Overview of your Copenhagen tour
Visit the home of LEGO - The original LEGOLAND, LEGO HOUSE, and the house of Danish national poet Hans Christian Andersen. Unknown to many, LEGO was in fact founded in the small town of Billund in western Denmark in 1932. I invite you to visit the LEGOLAND where I spent many summer days of my childhood; the LEGOLAND that came before all the others around the world. While most definitely an amusement park for kids of all ages, admiring the LEGO creativity up close is always fascinating. Close by is the recent addition LEGO HOUSE, where only the imagination seems to set boundaries. On our way westwards from Copenhagen, we will stop in the town of Odense, to visit the Hans Christian Andersen House, the museum dedicated to honor and showcase our famed national poet, author of tales like The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling, and many other tales. While this tour can be customized, please confer about opening hours on your preferred day of visiting.
Your Copenhagen tour itinerary
From Copenhagen, we head west along the motorway. After about an hour we cross the Great Belt on the spectacular Storebaelts Bridge. About 2 hours after leaving Copenhagen, we reach HC Andersen's House in Denmark's third biggest city Odense. We will have about an hour at the museum. About 1, 5 hours later, we arrive in the small town of Billund, home of LEGO. First stop will be at LEGO HOUSE, where there will be plenty of opportunity to explore and experiment. How long you wish to stay is entirely up to you. I recommend at least an hour. From here it is only a 10 minute drive to LEGOLAND. It is easy to spend an entire day here, however the tour is designed for you to spend about 3 hours, although many will find that to be too short. Please get in touch to customize the tour to your exact specifications. The tour can be extended by X amount of hours, the visit to the HC Andersen House cancelled, or the tour can be stretched to last 2 days. (You can overnight at the LEGO Castle Hotel or Hotel LEGOLAND).
