Visit the old and new parts of Copenhagen and sense the atmosphere of this laid back city. Discover why we are known as the world's happiest people. I love sharing knowledge about my home country and about Copenhagen, the city where I was born and where I live. Telling the history about old Denmark and showing the sights, the landscape and my favorite spots is what attracts me about being a tourist guide. I qualified as a tourist guide from the Tourist Guide Diploma Program at Roskilde University in 1996 and I have been teaching there too. In 2006, I obtained a Master degree in History from the University of Copenhagen. For a couple of years, I have lived and worked in England. I teach coming tourist guides at Nordic Guide Academy and I combine my work there with working as a freelance tourist guide in Copenhagen and with Copenhagen as a starting point. Having been a tourist guide for 25 years, I have extensive experience and I have guided for just one person as well as for larger groups and for people having many different nationalities as English is my guide language. It is always my aim to give a positive and memorable experience. I emphasize to show and to tell about both the old and the new Denmark and living conditions before and now. Most of my tours are walking tours and/or using public transport, as I wish to participate in a sustainable future for our planet. However, I also do tours by in and out of Copenhagen. Tours can be adapted to your specific interests, needs and time. I hope you will come to see why I love Wonderful Copenhagen! 1996 - Authorized Tourist Guide from Roskilde Univercity 2006 - MA History from Copenhagen University 2000 - Teacher at the Tourist Guide Diploma Program at Roskilde University 2013 - Founder and director of Danish Heritage Tours 2017 - 2020 Project Leader at Innovation and Development of Urban EcoTourism at Roskilde University 2024 - Teacher at Nordic Guide Academy I will not drive myself but hire a car or van with driver on the tours that requires driving.

On this 6-hour tour we drive from Copenhagen to the old town Helsingør (Elsinore) by train to visit the magnificent Kronborg Castle built in the 1500's. Kronborg is one of Northern Europe's finest Renaissance castles and is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Like me, you will no doubt admire the splendid Kronborg Castle and it's settings. Get to know it's connection to Shakespeare and admire the King's and Queen's chambers as well as the impressive Knights Hall. Did you know that the canons on the Kronborg bastions are still used? After visiting the castle, we will stroll through one of my favourite Danish towns. I do enjoy the picturesque old houses in Elsinore and I will love to share it's charming atmosphere with you. We will have time for a snack before heading back to Copenhagen.
We start this 6-hour tour from the Central Station in Copenhagen, and after one hour drive along the east coast of Zealand we arrive in the old town Elsinore. We walk to the impressive Kronborg Castle, also known as Hamlet's Castle, for an inside visit. During our visit, you will see - The royal apartments - The Knights Hall - The chapel - The bastions with a view towards Sweden - If you dare - the underground dungeons We will continue to the center of Elsinore for a walking tour. The old part of the town is a historic and cultural pearl with its old half-timbered houses and narrow cobbled streets. We will walk past The Maritime Museum and The Culture Yard, and if possible, we will visit the medieval church Sct. Mary's. We will have time for a snack before catching the train back to Copenhagen.
