The siege of Sarajevo was one of the longest sieges in the history of modern warfare. The Capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina was under siege by the army of Republica Srpska from April 5th 1992 to February 29th 1996, during the Bosnian war.

The siege was a year longer then the siege of Leningrad in WW2. During this tragic period, 11000 civilians were killed or went missing and about 1500 children were killed.

The city of Srebrenica is located around two and a half hours from the city of Sarajevo. The road takes you through a desolate, mountainous area with beautiful nature. Your first stop is in front of the battery factory, used by UN forces during the war in Bosnia. Bjelašnica is a mountain in central Bosnia and Herzegovina. It stretches to the southwest of Sarajevo with the tallest peak, by which the whole mountain group got its name, rises to an
