Gold mine and animal sanctuary- Informative, educational and entertaining.

Sovereign Hill is an interesting gold mining town full of exciting activities to make you feel like you're living amidst the 1850s gold rush. Sovereign Hill is a multi award-winning village depicting how life was in the gold mining area of Ballarat. Workers are dressed in period costume as they go around in horse-drawn carriages, and work in recreated factories, shops and schools. It is one of Victoria's best regional historical experiences. This tour was recently undertaken with me with influential instagram bloggers who had the most amazing experience; beyond expectations. ( see photos ) We take a scenic drive out to Ballarat the heart of the gold mining ' boom town" in the 1860's. We will spend time at the old mining village and have a lunch at the olde world restaurant . Followed by a visit to the Ballarat wild life sanctuary. Where you could hand feed kangaroos and interact with other animals.

I will collect you from your hotel or cruise ship or as arranged prior. 1. We head west on a scenic route to the historic town of Ballarat. 2. We then visit an olde world mining village. 3. You can enjoy numerous activities that replicate life in the 1850's and 1860's * view a gold pour , * watch school in progress with children in class writing on slate boards, *watch a mock battle, with British soldiers in red uniform * make a colour candle and much more. . . This is a wonderful educational experience for young and old. 4.You can enjoy lunch in the olde time restaurant 5. Afterwards we can visit the nearby wildlife sanctuary where you will: * View cute Koalas ; * little penguins, * Feed Kangaroos * Dingos and other Ozzie animals including Tassie devils * Watch as animals have their afternoon feeds. Relaxed and exhilarated after a great day out as we head on home with a nap optional.
