I was truly born and bred in Melbourne, and I proudly represent the third generation of my family to call Australia home. With over three decades of guiding and lecturing experience under my belt - including 18 years as a licensed guide in Australia and another decade as a guide in Israel and Egypt - I'm incredibly passionate about helping you explore the marvels of Melbourne. In our wonderfully multicultural city, I also take immense pride in my Jewish heritage. One of the highlights of my career was receiving the "Cultural Tour Guide of the Year" award from Luxury Travel magazine, a recognition of my dedication to providing exceptional tours. My educational journey includes a bachelor's degree from the University of Melbourne, a master's from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and tour guide and travel agent diplomas from Australia, Israel, and Egypt. However, at the core of my being, I'm fueled by curiosity and a genuine love for learning and having a blast along the way. I've been an active member of the Professional Tour Guides Association of Australia for more than 18 years, during which time I've had the privilege of leading groups of all sizes - from one-person tours to groups as large as 110. For 14 years, I've operated my own tour company with pride. Having guided all the main shore excursions offered in Melbourne, I can honestly say that it's just as enjoyable for me as it is for my clients. My fervor for my city and country runs deep, and I revel in showcasing what makes them great. For me, the essence of a great tour lies in its ability to be fun, fascinating, and to offer insights you can't easily find on your own. Whether your interests lean toward food, history, art, culture, nature, shore excursions, Jewish history, or a blend of these, I'm here to craft a personalized experience for you. My specialty lies in tailoring tours to align perfectly with your interests. Allow me to unveil the Melbourne that will ignite your inspiration. This tour is not about the sights - it's about the experience. I love living in Melbourne and you'll soon see why! My aim for this tour is to show you how we Melburnians spend a typical day when we have time to relax and enjoy our beautiful city. Usually every Sunday I walk on the esplanade at St Kilda Beach or the Royal Botanical Gardens (weather permitting) and go to the craft market nearby. For lunch we locals have fish and chips by the sea and feed the seagulls. But if that's not your style I can show you a number of great restaurants. Another option could be shopping for a gourmet picnic at one of the produce markets and eating by the river. This tour is totally customisable so take a look at the sample itinerary below, as well as the various alternative options. Discover how the locals do it in Melbourne!
This tour can be modified if you like or dislike something specific, the aim is pure enjoyment. A sample tour would be: Morning - We will head to National Gallery of Victoria, one of Australia's most renowned art museums. Explore the diverse collections and check out any special exhibitions that may be on display. For lunch - we go to the Queen Victoria Market. It's a food lover's paradise. You can sample delicious street food from different cultures, grab some fresh produce, or enjoy a sit-down meal at one of the many food stalls. In the afternoon - we take a tram or walk to Fitzroy, a trendy and artsy neighborhood. Stroll along Brunswick Street, browse boutique shops, and admire street art. Alternatives can be incorporated into a customised tour, please contact me if you are interested. For example, you could take a stroll by the sea or in the gardens, have a long leisurely lunch in a great restaurant, visit an art museum or have a massage.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
