Hi, and a very warm welcome to Melbourne! I have been a tour guide since 2016 and absolutely love sharing Melbourne and Victoria with travellers like you. My background as a research librarian and then a school teacher has provided the perfect preparation and skill set for what I do now. This includes a Parks Victoria licence to conduct tours in Victoria's national and state parks. Melbourne itself is best seen by walking and using the trams. Further afield, I generally drive my own vehicle, a top-of-the-range 2017 SUV Ford Escape Titanium, with air conditioning, leather seats, a sunroof, tray tables and full safety features. My vehicle comfortably seats 3 average size adults. I take great pride in presenting my car to a super clean standard. For groups of 4-11 travellers requiring more room, I can hire and drive a larger modern car or minibus to suit. I also have a licence to drive a 24-seater coach. My wife and I embarked on a 14-day New Zealand and Australian cruise. One of the stops was in Melbourne, and we contacted Toursbylocals to set us up with a tour guide who could introduce the city to us. We chose the tour provided by Leanne, and she was fantastic. In six hours, we were able to experience Melbourne. It was a walking tour with some brief tram rides. We were able to see many tourist sites as well as experiencing local fanfare. If you only have one day in Melbourne, we highly recommend that you hire Leann to learn about that great city. You will be happy that you did.

On one of the hottest days of the year in Melbourne, we had a lovely tour with Leighanne. We felt like we got to see the whole city and got a good overview of its neighborhoods. She was very knowledgeable, flexible, and enjoys her job of introducing her city to visitors. You have to love your job to brave 45 degree heat with grace and humor! We would absolutely recommend her!
My wife and I spent a lovely day with Leanne who was so very knowledgeable and flexible with our tour! The Australian Open was happening and we mentioned that it would be nice if we could head over to the stadium. “Absolutely” was her response so she juggled the planned route to include the Open. We were actually able to watch part of a match! Leanne introduced us to some of the local food and fruits (e.g. finger lime). We have been with TBl for decades and I find Leanne one of the best guides that we have had over the years. We would highly recommend her to anyone visiting Melbourne.
