If you want to explore a bit more that Melbourne has to offer, we can use the largest tram network in the world to get around. I also operate day tours in an air conditioned vehicle exploring the history and enjoying the magnificent scenery that Victoria has to offer. Popular destinations are the Great Ocean Road and 12 Apostles, the Penguin Parade at Phillip Island, and Yarra Valley wineries and Healesville Sanctuary. I also offer tours of more than one day to these locations. However, please note that due to a recent medical operation that prevents me from driving for 12 months, I will not be able to deliver vehicle based tours until November 2026 I can also develop multi-day tour itineraries to places such as the Victorian Alps, Bendigo, and the magnificent paddle steamers on the Murray River at Echuca, Wilsons Promontory, and Walhalla historic gold mining town nestled deep in the Great Dividing Range. Explore Melbourne on foot using its intricate network of laneways and historic shopping arcades, as well as its extensive streetcar network View the original site of Melbourne's settlement, with its historic warehouses. Visit beautifully restored grand old buildings from the boom years of the gold rush, and more recent spectacular architecture. Walk along some of Melbourne's famous laneways that are filled with vibrant cafes and shops, perhaps seeing a street artist at work. Walk the "Paris end" of Collins Street with stately trees and beautifully preserved 19th-century streetscape and view Parliament House and Treasury Building, built when a brash young colony was oozing in the wealth of the Gold Rush. Stop for a coffee, lunch, or a drink at one of Melbourne's many cafes or bars. Start and finish at your hotel, Cruise Ship Terminal, or other central location. We absolutely loved our walking tour with Greg. We learned so much about the history of Melbourne and saw most of the key sites in the downtown, arts and government districts. Greg shared many personal stories about growing up in Melbourne which added to the experience. He was flexible too, allowing us to customize the walk to visit areas of special interest.
Greg was an incredible guide. He took us all over the city to show us some interesting things. He is very knowledgeable and listened to what we wanted to see/do. There was an event downtown so we had trouble getting a tram back to our ship. He went 2 hours over our original tour so that we could see and experience everything then drove us back to our ship. Next time we are in Melbourne we will be contacting Greg for another amazing tour.
Six of us experienced Greg’s 6-hour walking tour, including a perfect Rooftop Bar lunch. Each stop on our tour was a page in the history of Melbourne’s wealthy past shown in the architecture and ornate interiors of its downtown buildings. We also toured street art and alleyways busy with cafes, shops, and restaurants. We capped off our tour with a visit to the Queen Victoria Market, where we could have spent a whole additional day. We had a lovely walking tour but also were able to experience Melbourne’s tram system. To top it off, Greg arranged for perfect weather — a great day!
What a wonderful walking tour of Melbourne! We learned so much about this fascinating city and saw the contrast of architecture through many stages, great examples of local art, felt the vibe through the city and enjoyed some wonderful food. We spent 2 days with Greg during our 2 days in Melbourne. He was an excellent guide. His knowledge and personality was outstanding. We had never used Tours by locals before, but after this trip we will definitely use them on all our holidays. You must use Greg if you are looking for an outstanding guide in MELBOURNE. He works with your schedule and knows all the outstanding sites in Melbourne. The Great Ocean Road is a must see when visiting Melbourne. It is breathtaking.
