G’day! I’m Simon. A Melbourne local and enthusiastic professional tour guide. It would be my pleasure to show you around the city – and indeed the state – that I know and love. Victoria might be Australia’s second smallest state, but the diversity of culture and landscapes here is unmatched. From bustling cities to sleepy towns, ragged mountains to pristine beaches, arid interior to lush forests, it’s all here. And in our capital Melbourne, the huge array of sports, foods, theatres, galleries and gardens make it a delight to explore. It’s no wonder that we’re often called one of the world’s most liveable cities. After a career in sales followed by a 10-year stint in the education sector, I became a tour guide so I could help visitors to Australia enjoy it as much as I do. When not working, you’ll often find me checking out a new café, restaurant or winery, or walking in one of our many stunning National Parks. I have a small number of tours listed here, but can customise these or tailor something completely different to suit your individual needs. Melbourne has a wonderful tram network that I use when exploring the inner city. For tours to other areas or those preferring to be transported by car, I will hire a suitable vehicle. For solo travellers, I usually use my top-of-the-line Suzuki Vitara AWD which is ideal for trips to the Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges and the Great Ocean Road. I am an Accredited Professional Guide with Tour Guides Australia and am authorised by Safe Transport Victoria to carry passengers. I also hold a current first aid certificate and Working With Children Check and am comprehensively insured. Please browse my listed tours or send me a message. I will do everything I can to make your trip to Melbourne one you won’t forget.

This is a relaxing tour full of inclusions. Devonshire tea, cheese tasting, wine tastings, lunch and afternoon tea are all included at no additional cost. We'll start the day meeting at a convenient location in the city and make our way by car through one of Victoria's first gold rush towns to the gorgeous Yarra Valley wine region. Once here, we'll embark on a food and wine adventure, where I'll introduce you to some hidden gems, including some of the region's smaller producers. Our first two experiences, Devonshire tea and cheese tasting, take place at well-known local historic sites. We then travel a short distance for the first of our wine tastings, which is followed by a two-course lunch. Afterwards, it's just a short drive to an off-the-beaten-track vineyard to sample some local small batch wines. Following this, I like to include a drive through the farmlands and forests to one of my favourite spots where we can stop for some afternoon tea amongst the rural scenery, before returning to the city.
• Meet in the city and drive the backroads by private vehicle to the Yarra Valley wine region • Savour a delicious Devonshire tea at a famous estate • Sample some of the locally-made cheeses • Enjoy a range of wines followed by a two-course lunch • Taste some fine, cool climate, small batch wines at a small family-owned vineyard • Stop for afternoon tea amongst the fresh mountain air • Return to the city feeling relaxed
