I'm Jezabel, but my friends call me Jes. I was born and raised in Salta. I spent my childhood reading everything about History, Geography, Literature and so on, and I had the chance to live a couple of months in England, that helped me to improve my english speaking. And that's why my work as a tour guide started as son as I was 21 years old in 2005. While I was doing my degree as a Professor in History at University, I also worked in the High Altitude Archeological Museum (MAAM) which is nowadays the most visited museum in the country. That also expanded my knowledge of the richness of the culture and history that we have at the North West of Argentina. Currently, I´m a PhD Canditate in Social and Cultural Studies at the UNSA, and on my free time I still work doing some historical and anthropological research. I take satisfaction in sharing my knowledge of the history and culture of his huge and diverse land to visitors. Being a tour guide has given me the chance to interact with individuals from all over the world, and I consider myself fortunate to learn from them, and share my experiences with them too. I turn my trips into a way of living, I enjoy being a guide, but also being a tourist. I spent a couple of years traveling around Asia and South America. This helped me to discover that in difference there is always something in common. This is a dialectical relationship that is created in the journey of traveling. Talking, learning, sharing is part of the many things that happens when we are open to know something new. I have an easygoing personality that I believe enables me to connect with travelers on a slightly deeper level and make their adventures in the Argentinean NW unforgettable. I would love to take you to the mountains, the landscape and the people that lives there, as an interpreter for you, not only as a guide. All my tours can be customized so we can find the best for you! Credited tour guide by Ministerio de Turismo de Salta Credited guide by Parque Nacional Los Cardones Professor in History (Universidad Nacional de Salta) First Aid training Professional driving license None.

Overview of your Salta tour

Did you know that Salta is one of the most iconic cities in Argentina? It was founded back in 1582, in the fertile Valley of Lerma, to be part of the Alto Peru. Its roots were always linked to the Andean world. Nowadays, we still can see and feel some of the colonial times in part of the city and its inhabitants. The city of Salta is also known as the land of tradition. This not only involves the religious side, but also the gauchos. And this is all part of the colonial and independence times as well. The transformations of the city across the years have turned Salta into a highlight of what you can't miss when visiting North West Argentina.

Your Salta tour itinerary

We will start from our meeting point and drive to the San Bernardo hill, where we are going to see the Valley of Lerma and all the geological history behind the North West Argentina. Then, we'll have a walk around the main plaza, talking about its history and visiting the key points like the Cathedral, the Cabildo and the High Altitude Archeological Museum (MAAM) where are the best preserved Inca mummies. After visiting the key landscape, we are going to have lunch: empanadas or another traditional food. Then we will drive to San Lorenzo, a beautiful village only 15 minutes from Salta. It is know by its mountain rainforest. Over there, we are going to do a little hike in a Natural reserve. We can also do birdwatching and enjoy the amazing rainforest before we return to Salta and finish the tour. * I can customize this tour according your preferences (Art & local literature, food and cooking class, etc). * It is posible to do this tour with more than 4 people.
