I'm Jezabel, but my friends call me Jes. I was born and raised in Salta. I spent my childhood reading everything about History, Geography, Literature and so on, and I had the chance to live a couple of months in England, that helped me to improve my english speaking. And that's why my work as a tour guide started as son as I was 21 years old in 2005. While I was doing my degree as a Professor in History at University, I also worked in the High Altitude Archeological Museum (MAAM) which is nowadays the most visited museum in the country. That also expanded my knowledge of the richness of the culture and history that we have at the North West of Argentina. Currently, I´m a PhD Canditate in Social and Cultural Studies at the UNSA, and on my free time I still work doing some historical and anthropological research. I turn my trips into a way of living, I enjoy being a guide, but also being a tourist. I spent a couple of years traveling around Asia, Italy and South America. This helped me to discover that in difference there is always something in common. This is a dialectical relationship that is created in the journey of traveling. Talking, learning, sharing is part of the many things that happens when we are open to know something new. Being an interpreter, not just a guide, has given me the chance to interact with individuals from all over the world, and I consider myself fortunate to learn from them, and share my experiences with them too. I have an easygoing personality, that I believe enables me to connect with travelers on a slightly deeper level and make their adventures in the Argentinean NW unforgettable. I would love to take you to the mountains, enjoy the good wines of the region and our fabulous food that are a great part of the NW culture. All my tours can be customized so we can find the best for you! Credited tour guide by Ministerio de Turismo de Salta Credited guide by Parque Nacional Los Cardones Professor in History (Universidad Nacional de Salta) First Aid training Professional driving license None.

Overview of your Salta tour

Have you thought about a place that every kilometer changes the landscape? The answer is going to Cachi, a full day trip where we will switch from a Valley view to the mountain rainforest. As long as we drive higher in altitude, we will see mountains with little vegetation and the serpentine route to a new ecological floor: the Puna. But is going to be a very particular Puna, were only is possible to see a sharp grass and guanacos. After the Safari, we will open a new door, where the pathway will take us to a big land full of cactus in the heart of the Parque Nacional Los Cardones. We will continue enjoying to Cachi, this little colonial town where we have lunch and at the afternoon we will return to Salta. I recommend to add the experience of a local winery, where is possible to have lunch.

Your Salta tour itinerary

We will leave Salta City in the morning, driving along the Lerma Valley through road 68 and 35 kilometers we will change the road. The rute 33 to the west of the valley will show us the fertility of the zone and will take us through the Quebrada de Escoipe. This Canyon is a labyrinth of a mountain rainforest that change every kilometer. We will Enjoying so much the vegetation while it gets smaller and bring us the cactus and the few houses of the people that lives in the Canyon. The road will get prettier as we get higher, until we reach the 3400 high. Over there, in the ecosystem of the Puna is where we will watch some groups of guanacos. Moving on, in the zone where are the cactus, we will make a stop for walking around a pathway that will give us a glimpse of the National Park.
