I love travelling! And that's why I've made of it my way of life. I'm a professional guide. Since 1999 I've been working in Salta, my birth place, and after that in the whole of Argentina, and in other countries, like Bolivia and Chile, South Africa, Namibia and Bostwana, until I've found my second home in Norway, where I spend half of the year. In the austral summers I'm in Argentina, ready to show the marvellous landscapes of the Argentinian Northwest. I work with a 4x4 car, and I love going out of the beaten paths, discovering hidden places, and taking the time to enjoy every single moment: a sunset, a glass of wine, a chat with a local person. During boreal summers I'm in Norway and I bike all over the amazing Oslo, to show travellers the most significant places: from the old city to the super modern new areas, from busiest working neighborhoods to relaxing green parks, from the main touristic attractions to the hidden spots where locals live, eat, work and have fun. I like sports. I believe that walking or biking gives you a much closer contact with the enviroment. You don't need to be a fit person, we can adapt the experience to all the levels, but I definitely suggest you to try it. The colors will seem stronger, you will feel the sounds, the smells, and the wind will stroke your face. I enjoy the contact with people, and I want to share what I've learned with you to help to make of your trip the best experience. Tourist Guide, registered in the Tourism Ministry of Salta. We will experience the completely different landscapes of the North-West, from rain forest to dessert areas. The Quebrada de Humahuaca (Humahuaca's gorge) is a UNESCO World Heritage, because of its unique landscape and its rich history and traditions. The beauty of the colourful mountains os breathtaking, changing in every turn of the road. It was also scenary of the Inca's conquerors, the Spanish colonization and the independence wars. As it has many visitors, we will try to avoid the crowds, travelling in a slower pace, and adding some extra activities, like walking along «Los Colorados» trail, around the incredible Seven colours mountain. All the small towns are charming and have something special to show us; Purmamarca, with its Seven colours mountain ; Tilcara with its archeological site ; Uquia with the church of american baroque art ; and Humahuaca, with its monument and the markets. Even if it is possible to make this trip in one day, I reccomend 2, as there is a lot to see and we can enjoy more.
From Salta, we will drive following the old in the sub-tropical forest, to San Salvador de Jujuy, After, in Humahuaca's gorge, we will visit: - Purmamarca: its a beautiful town, amazingly well located at the base of the Seven colours mountain. We can walk for 1 hour around the mountain, or spend time in the colorful market in town. - Tilcara: we visit the archeological site called Pucara de Tilcara, occupied from the year 1000 until the arrival of the Spaniards. - Huacalera: where the Capricorn Tropic is. - Uquia: we visit a colonial church, decorated with old paintings of american barroc art - Humahuaca: the small streets, the markets and the monument to the heroes of the independence are the main attractions. From here we drive to the amazing Hornocal. - Maimará: short stop at the Painters pallet mountain. Then, return to Salta by the highway. Bring light and comfortable cloths and shoes, jacket, sun-cream and camera! The itinerary can be adapted: do not hesitate to contact me to customize it.
