I love travelling! And that's why I've made of it my way of life. I'm a professional guide. Since 1999 I've been working in Salta, my birth place, and after that in the whole of Argentina, and in other countries, like Bolivia and Chile, South Africa, Namibia and Bostwana, until I've found my second home in Norway, where I spend half of the year. In the austral summers I'm in Argentina, ready to show the marvellous landscapes of the Argentinian Northwest. I work with a 4x4 car, and I love going out of the beaten paths, discovering hidden places, and taking the time to enjoy every single moment: a sunset, a glass of wine, a chat with a local person. During boreal summers I'm in Norway and I bike all over the amazing Oslo, to show travellers the most significant places: from the old city to the super modern new areas, from busiest working neighborhoods to relaxing green parks, from the main touristic attractions to the hidden spots where locals live, eat, work and have fun. I like sports. I believe that walking or biking gives you a much closer contact with the enviroment. You don't need to be a fit person, we can adapt the experience to all the levels, but I definitely suggest you to try it. The colors will seem stronger, you will feel the sounds, the smells, and the wind will stroke your face. I enjoy the contact with people, and I want to share what I've learned with you to help to make of your trip the best experience. Tourist Guide, registered in the Tourism Ministry of Salta. This trip is full of contrasts: rain forest, dry sandstone gorges, high plateaus, fertile valleys and old colonial towns, full of traditions and history. At Los Cardones National park, we will find an amazing cactus forest, guardians of the Inca trail, and we will also have a high possibility of meeting the magestic «cóndor», flying over the Andes pics. Cachi, is consider one of the most beautiful towns of Argentina, and I think it is! I particularly enjoy its calm and friendly ambience. Here you can also find some of the best plates of our traditional cuisine, and the highests wines of the world, characterised by their reach colour, taste and flavour. On our way back, I propose a D-tour, to take the road knowns as "Los Colorados", a particular area, formed by red sandstones. It's a hidden gem that most of the tourists miss! You will not regret going there, even if it makes the day a bit longer. The itinerary can be adapted to your interests: do not hesitate to contact me for a customized tour.
We leave Salta, and drive through the Lerma Valley. Later, we cross a short area of rain forest, and suddenly the landscape become drier at "Quebrada de Escoipe", where we will have plenty of photo stops. We drive uphill the steep "Cuesta del Obispo" until the highest point "Piedra del Molino", at 3456m, with a breathtaking panoramic view. Here we will be already inside "Los Cardones National Park", wich protects a special variety of cactus, and there are thousands of them! Specially along the "Recta de Tin Tin", built along and old Inca Trail. We continue downhill towards the Calchaquí valley, where the colonial town of Cachi is. There we'll spend some time for walking, eating and if you want, shopping handicrafts or visiting its interesting archeological museum. After having lunch, we will take the mythic 40 road south, to join the way to "Los Colorados", that will take us back to Tin Tin, on our road back to Salta. Dress comfortable cloths and shoes, t-shirt and jacket all year around. Ask before pictures
