I'm Jezabel, but my friends call me Jes. I was born and raised in Salta. I spent my childhood reading everything about History, Geography, Literature and so on, and I had the chance to live a couple of months in England, that helped me to improve my english speaking. And that's why my work as a tour guide started as son as I was 21 years old in 2005. While I was doing my degree as a Professor in History at University, I also worked in the High Altitude Archeological Museum (MAAM) which is nowadays the most visited museum in the country. That also expanded my knowledge of the richness of the culture and history that we have at the North West of Argentina. Currently, I´m a PhD Canditate in Social and Cultural Studies at the UNSA, and on my free time I still work doing some historical and anthropological research. I turn my trips into a way of living, I enjoy being a guide, but also being a tourist. I spent a couple of years traveling around Asia, Italy and South America. This helped me to discover that in difference there is always something in common. This is a dialectical relationship that is created in the journey of traveling. Talking, learning, sharing is part of the many things that happens when we are open to know something new. Being an interpreter, not just a guide, has given me the chance to interact with individuals from all over the world, and I consider myself fortunate to learn from them, and share my experiences with them too. I have an easygoing personality, that I believe enables me to connect with travelers on a slightly deeper level and make their adventures in the Argentinean NW unforgettable. I would love to take you to the mountains, enjoy the good wines of the region and our fabulous food that are a great part of the NW culture. All my tours can be customized so we can find the best for you! Overview of your Salta tour

This trip is all about the treasure that hides the mountains and has the name of Iruya. It is a small town, founded in 1573 and looks like is “hanging” from the mountains. The steep and narrow streets once upon time was designed for mules. The chapel constructed with adobe bricks submerged us in a place where has no time. Also is a great place to enjoy the nature and to do a light to moderate trekking to the little town of San Isidro. The charming landscape following the river is breathtaking! Also, this trip can be customized as you wish, adding more days is possible to visit more towns of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, sleep an extra night in a hotel with natural hot springs or to continue to the north, to the border with Bolivia, where the Puna has more places to delight our eyes and experience. “One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” Henry Miller.

Your Salta tour itinerary

Following the route 9 we will drive through the Quebrada de Humahuaca and Salinas Grandes, where we are going to enjoy our view of the colorful mountains. The first stop will be in Salinas Grandes and after we will visit Purmamarca and the 7 colours hill, Then we will go to Tilcara to enjoy the local gastronomy and the town. The next day, we will continue the driving along the Quebrada the Humahuaca until we will move only 24 kilometers into a gravel road across the mountains. We will arrive to Iruya, where we are going to sleep. The next day, after resting and breakfast, we are going to start a journey of hiking of 15 kilometers of round trip. We will arrive to the small treasure town: San Isidro. This is going to be a journey of 6 hours, walking to our rhythm. We will arrive at the early afternoon to enjoy Iruya. The next day we will return to Salta. This trip can be customize and I recomend more days to enjoy the towns of the Quebrada de Humahuaca.
