Guide #31796
Fully vaccinated (including booster) My passion for the tourism industry began more than 15 years ago, when I arranged a highly successful sight-seeing tour for several friends and family members who decided to visit and explore the natural scenic beauty and diverse culture of South Africa. I grew up in a family where a love for the outdoors was a way of life. I spent most of my career in a corporate financial environment, which has given me an immense understanding of the various industries that drive our economy in South Africa - Tourism and hospitality being one of them. During the middle of 2014, I decide to leave my successful career as a professional banker and pursue my ultimate dream of becoming an "ambassador" of our beautiful country, effectively turning my passion into a career. I must add that going back to study again was an incredibly liberating experience. I am an avid purveyor of all the unique aspects that South Africa has to offer the world from a tourism perspective. These include, but are not limited to; it's rich wildlife, unsurpassed scenic splendour, award winning wines and culinary delights - not to mention our amazing hospitality. South Africa is steeped in profound history and natural beauty. It is also a wonderful melting pot of cultural diversity, making it one of those "must see" places on anyone's travel agenda… A true "Rainbow Nation" as our beloved Nelson Mandela had wished for. As a registered tourist guide and "SA Specialist", I hope to make every visitor's experience a truly memorable and unforgettable one! I live by the simple philosophy of "Creating memorable experiences to esteemed guests all year round". My other passions include travelling to the "great outdoors", where I love to spend my leisure time with close friends and family, either camping in the mountains or soaking up the sun. I also love photography and I am a keen sailor, having achieved my Provincial colours in the sport. I support two charitable organisations, namely the National Sea Rescue institute and "Tears". (The Emma Animal Rescue Society) My other hobbies include travel, reading and historical research. Today, my sole "mission" and passion is to show off what Cape Town and South Africa have to offer as a premium travel destination. Cape Town is regarded as one of the best "value for money" destinations in the world, due to its weak exchange rate. As a local tourist guide, let me take the hassles out of your holiday while you sit back and relax, immersing yourself in the amazing vibe that Cape Town and its surrounds has to offer. My key focus is YOU, our guest. I will tailor-make and design the perfect one day or multiple day travel plan to best suit your personal requirements and budget and will take the hassle out of you having to plan where you'd like to go, where you'd like to stay and what you'd like to experience. I look forward to welcoming you with open arms and creating the perfect and most memorable experience for you in the best City in the world! We requested several changes to George's publicized tour to the Cape Winelands which he accommodated very nicely, even helping us gain admission to some sights along the way that we were interested to see. This was our second tour with George who was prompt, congenial, attentive and shared so much knowledge and local facts with us. He accommodated our changes but used his...

Dear Diane and Susan, what an absolute pleasure it was to have been your private (and somewhat different and flexible!) guide. Thank you for being such wonderful and inquiring guests and I'm really glad that you enjoyed your day in our beautiful wine country! Until we meet again... Warmest regards, George
George was an excellent and congenial guide for our tour to the Cape Point and many places along the way. He was very flexible to modify the tour to fit our plans, included stops and suggestions along the way that we did not know about and shared his extensive knowledge about the areas we visited and about South Africa in general. He was an expert guide who made sure we...

Dear Diane and Susan, thank you for your warm review and I'm so happy you enjoyed your immersive day out! It was such a pleasure meeting and hosting you both! Warmest regards, George
Wow what an amazing day. George switched a lot of things up on the fly due to fog and traffic, but the tour did not skip a beat. He was so personable and knowledgeable and kept us amused with details all day on a 10 hour tour. We saw everything we had hoped to see. Plus he picked us up at our cruise ship when we got off and let us take our bags with us and then...

We had a brilliant day with George and had so many different experiences from visiting the Cape of Good Hope and funicular to the lighthouse, delightful penguins and up Table Mountain by cable car but what we didn't expect was close encounters of an ostrich kind and a herd of baboons. George is great company not only is he a fountain of interesting knowledge about the...
