Hello, I am Daniel, and I am a Tourist Guide in Cape Town. ALL my advertised tours are very flexible, and can be tailor-made to your specific interests and needs. I am passionate about our beautiful Cape. When Sir Francis Drake became the first person to sail around the world between 1577 and 1580, he was so impressed with the Cape Peninsula and Table Mountain that he stated in his log "The fairest Cape, the most stately thing we saw in the whole circumference of the globe. " Any visitors to Cape Town have to visit Table Mountain, one of the 7 Wonders of the World. If you are in Cape Town for longer than a day, it is almost compulsory to drive around the Peninsula to the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point for spectacular views. Our biggest export product is our wines, and a tour of the Winelands with inclusive wine tasting is another great tour. If you are also visiting the rest of South Africa, I also offer one way Garden Route tours where you can link up with Johannesburg from Port Elizabeth Airport. I am a fully qualified, licensed and registered tourist guide for the Western Cape and have a Professional Driving Permit. I am also a member of the Cape Town Tourist Guide Association. As part of my license requirements, I hold a valid First Aid certificate and have also completed a Wine Course. You will be travelling in a safe, air-conditioned car to ensure comfort and safety. When we are more than four people, I rent a larger vehicle from a reputable company. I do not take commission from any person or establishment and therefore I am able to take you anywhere you desire to visit or to places where the actual experience has proved to be of the very best value for your money - not to places where I can make a 'quick buck' on the side! One visit to Cape Town and you will agree with the travel author Lawrence G Green: "Though I am always ready to pack for a journey, I insist that Cape Town shall be at the end of it". Livingstone Tourism Academy - Culture Site Guide; MST Medical Skills Training - First Aid Level 1; Hospitality Connection - Basic Wine Course; Republic Of South Africa - Professional Driving permit EC1; Registered - National Department of Tourism: Cape Metropole; Winelands; Overberg; West Coast & Namaqualand; Breede River Valley; Garden Route up to Port Elizabeth and Surrounds.

Overview of your Cape Town tour

A visit to Cape Point is compulsory if your stay in Cape Town is anything longer than one day. We drive down the eastern side of the peninsula along the False Bay Coast via Muizenberg, Fish Hoek and Simon's Town to Cape Point, the southern tip of the peninsula. On the return we drive the western side along the Atlantic coastline past Scarborough, Misty Cliffs and Kommetjie, scenic Chapman's Peak Drive, through Hout Bay and then follow the Atlantic seaboard past Llandudno, the Twelve Apostles, through Camps Bay, Clifton Beach, Bantry Bay, Sea Point and Green Point. Watch a colony of African Penguins at Boulders Beach, drive through the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, climb up (or for the not so energetic, use the funicular ride) to the lighthouse at Cape Point. In Simon's Town we stop at the statue of Just Nuisance, a Great Dane that received the rank of Able Seaman in the Royal Navy and was buried with full military honours!

Daniel provided a full day of touring the peninsula. He was very personable, knowledgeable and fun to be with. Love that he went out his way to make sure we saw seals :). One the scenic routes was closed due to mud slides but Daniel provided a great detour and then doubled back on the on the end so we could see some of the scenery. We learned about the Cape Floristic Kingdom and some of the first sailors to make it around the tip of Africa.

Daniel started our day by being punctual and was willing to adjust our tour to our needs. The tour as is was wonderful. Daniel is a wealth of information and know the history of the region. Also very knowledgeable about the meanings of the names especially the Dutch. He is a good driver and liked the idea that he did the tour in a clockwise direction to keep the scenery easy to view. Also picked a great lunch spot according to when we wanted to eat. Daniel really showed us a great tour. You won’t go wrong booking with him!

Daniel did an outstanding job showing us the Cape Peninsula. He was extremely knowledgeable about the region and history, providing information that only a few would know. We feel very fortunate to have chosen him as our tour guide not knowing what you may get hiring a tour guide. We highly recommend him for any of his tours.

Your Cape Town tour itinerary

We drive around the Cape Peninsula in a clockwise direction. In South Africa we drive on the left side of the road, and by doing it clockwise, we ensure that we are always on the scenic side and have easy access to view points along the way. ~ We leave Cape Town and drive the M3 to reach the False Bay coast at Muizenberg. ~ We follow the coastline through the little coastal villages of Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek to Simon's Town. ~ Visit the African Penguin colony at Boulders Beach. ~ Continue along the False Bay coast to the Cape of Good Hope section of Table Mountain National Park. ~ Visit the historic lighthouse on top of Cape Point, and take in the breathtaking views from the cliff lookouts. Funicular tram available to the top. ~ Visit the Cape of Good Hope and take your picture behind the big sign board. ~ We return to Cape Town along the western coastline through the conservation villages of Scarborough and Misty Cliffs to Noordhoek Village. ~ Drive the spectacular Chapman's Peak Drive.
