Rich in natural heritage, the Cape Peninsula is one of the top tourist destinations in South Africa. This day tour gets you out and about on a circular route to discover breathtaking mountain landscapes and thrilling ocean vistas. The Cape Peninsula juts out into the Atlantic Ocean and becomes the most southwestern tip of the African continent. Experience dramatic views driving along Chapman's Peak Drive, visit the Cape Point Lighthouse and stop at the Cape of Good Hope for exhilarating views of the ocean. Enjoy lunch at a seaside restaurant followed by an up close introduction to the endangered African Penguins at Boulders in Simon's Town. It is difficult to imagine what would have been going through the minds of the first European explorers navigating the tip of Africa. Let your inner explorer loose and join me on a tour of the Cape Peninsula as we relive what they may have experienced and learn why Sir Francis Drake who called it “The Fairest Cape in all the World”.
- Pick up from your cruise ship and we drive towards Chapman’s Peak Drive cut into the side of the mountain, renowned for dramatic views. - Next, we enter the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve where a short tram ride on the Flying Dutchman whisks you to the base of the Cape Point Lighthouse to experience uninterrupted 360 degree views! - A short drive to the Cape of Good Hope is next, bringing you to the most southwestern tip of the African continent! Here, a signboard offers the perfect photo opportunity for keepsake. - We leave the reserve and head for lunch at a quaint seaside restaurant overlooking False Bay. Keep an eye on the ocean for possible seals or whales visiting, while you dine enjoy a sumptuous meal and sip perfectly chilled wine. - Finally, it’s time to meet our resident African Penguins at Boulders in Simon’s Town. Enjoy the boardwalk system through the colony and experience these enigmatic birds going about their business in their natural habitat. We return to your cruise/hotel/airport.
