Mountains & Oceans – Private Cape Peninsula Tour

I’ve travelled and worked throughout South Africa, but Cape Town has always been home. My roots here run deep – my ancestors arrived from Holland in the late 1600s – and after a long corporate career, I decided it was time to spend my days doing something I genuinely love: showing people my corner of the world. I’ve been guiding for more than 15 years, and what still keeps it interesting is that no two guests or days are the same. I enjoy the history and stories behind the places we visit, but I’m equally likely to stop for wildlife beside the road, point out something flowering on the mountain, introduce you to a favourite local food, or change our plans because the weather has given us a better opportunity elsewhere. Cape Town is an extraordinary mix of landscapes, cultures, history, food and wine, and I believe the best way to experience it is with time to look, taste, talk and occasionally take an unexpected detour. My tours are private, so while I’ll always have a plan, it’s your day. Some guests want to photograph everything, others want to understand our complicated history, taste great wine, explore nature or simply enjoy being somewhere new. I’ll adapt the pace and the detail to you. You don’t need me to recite a guidebook. My job is to provide the context, local knowledge and practical experience that help you understand what you’re seeing – and to make the day easy and enjoyable along the way. After all these years, I’m still curious about Cape Town and South Africa myself. Perhaps that’s why I still enjoy introducing them to other people.
