I've traveled and worked all over South Africa, but Cape Town has always been home. My roots here run deep - my ancestors arrived from Holland around 1696! After years in the corporate world, I took a step back and explored my own country like a tourist. That journey led me to an unexpected passion: guiding. Discover the spectacular Cape Peninsula on a private full-day journey combining dramatic mountain scenery, wild Atlantic coastlines, fascinating history and the famous African penguins at Boulders Beach. Follow the scenic route along the Atlantic seaboard and Chapman’s Peak Drive before exploring Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, the most south-western tip of Africa. Enjoy lunch at a seaside restaurant overlooking False Bay, then meet the African penguins at Boulders in Simon’s Town. Along the way, I’ll share stories of the people, places and explorers who shaped this remarkable corner of South Africa. Caz is not only a fantastic tour guide she is also a very lovely lady. We had a great day with Caz, her knowledge of her city and culture, animals and plants was amazing. TLDR: Caz is amazing! :) From the very beginning, she made us feel so welcome and comfortable, and it honestly felt like we were exploring with a good friend. There is always a bit of reservation when exploring a new place as an LGBT couple, but Caz quickly made us feel safe and accepted. Caz has such a natural way of sharing stories and history—interesting, fun, & never rushed. What made the day so special was how thoughtful and attentive she was. She paid attention to what we were interested in and tailored the experience just for us. Little details, like pointing out specific vegetation or a whale in the distance, made everything feel extra memorable. By the end, we didn’t just feel like we’d learned so much—we felt truly connected to the place and one of its locals. This tour was such a highlight of our trip, and we’re so grateful for Caz's kindness, knowledge, & passion.
I’ll meet you at your accommodation, cruise ship or agreed meeting point, and we’ll set off on our full-day journey around the Cape Peninsula. We travel along the Atlantic seaboard towards Hout Bay and continue along spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive, stopping for photographs where conditions allow. From here, we enter the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and make our way to Cape Point. You can take the Flying Dutchman funicular towards the lighthouse for panoramic views before we continue to the Cape of Good Hope, the most south-western tip of Africa, for that essential keepsake photograph. Next we head to Simon’s Town for lunch at a seaside restaurant overlooking False Bay before visiting Boulders Beach, home to a colony of African penguins. We’ll explore the boardwalks and watch these fascinating birds in their natural habitat. At the end of our day, we return to your accommodation, cruise ship or preferred drop-off point. For cruise guests, the day will be planned around deboarding and boarding times.
