I've traveled and worked all over South Africa, but Cape Town has always been home. My roots here run deep - my ancestors arrived from Holland around 1696! After years in the corporate world, I took a step back and explored my own country like a tourist. That journey led me to an unexpected passion: guiding. What started as giving travel tips to friends turned into a full-time career, and I’ve never looked back. Now, with 15 years of experience, I get to do what I love every day - sharing the incredible history, diverse cultures, and stunning landscapes of Cape Town with visitors from all over the world. When I’m not guiding, you’ll find me outdoors - birdwatching, photographing wildlife, camping, enjoying wine farms, or having a good old-fashioned braai (BBQ) with friends. I love exploring lesser-known spots, always searching for hidden gems to share. My passion for this vibrant city shines through in every tour I lead, whether I'm guiding visitors on top of the iconic Table Mountain, exploring the bustling streets of Bo-Kaap, or diving into the historical depths of Robben Island, I eloquently bring Cape Town’s stories to life. Known for my attention to detail, I ensure every experience is seamless and tailored to the unique interests of each guest. I specialize in personalized tours, ensuring an experience tailored to your interests - whether you’re a history buff, nature lover, or are just here to soak up the beauty. Meeting fellow travelers and sharing this incredible city is what excites me most. Let’s explore Cape Town together - you’ll leave with unforgettable memories and a deeper connection to this special place. Experience Cape Town over three private days, allowing us to go beyond the highlights and discover the history, people, landscapes, food and wine that make the Mother City so special. Spending three days together means I get to know your interests and can tailor the experience as we go, rather than following a rigid itinerary. It also gives us valuable flexibility with Cape Town's changeable weather. If conditions aren't right for Table Mountain or another outdoor experience, we can adjust the order of our days and make the most of better conditions. Depending on your interests, we can combine Table Mountain, Bo Kaap (neighborhood of brightly painted houses), Kirstenbosch, the spectacular Cape Peninsula and African Penguins at Boulders with the historic wine regions of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Enjoy carefully chosen restaurants, wine estates and local experiences along the way. While I can’t predict the weather, I can promise we’ll make the most of our time together.
Excellent guide!
Our Guide Caz L was amazing—she was able to put together three full days of touring after chatting with us and finding out our interests, likes and dislikes and our physical capabilities. She comes with a wealth of knowledge sharing it with personal stories and researched information. We felt very comfortable putting an itinerary in her hands. By the end of the three days I felt we had made a good friend and would recommend her to anyone wanting to travel in Cape Town.
I had an amazing customized two day tour to include the peninsula, penguins, baboon, Eland, Ostrich, Cape Point lighthouse, Cape of Good Hope, Chapman's Peak Drive and sunset. Day two was an overview Cape Town from signal mountain followed by a tour of the city sites, smells, flavors and history. The pace was perfect to match what I wanted to see, experience and photograph. I enjoyed conversing and learning about the area with Caz. Caz is very knowledgeable of the area, we were able to miss the crowds on bus tours and experience drives and places the bus would not go. It was a wonderful personal experience with great food at the Scone Shack, the Truth Coffee house and unique bites in Bo-Kaap. I highly recommend Caz as a tour guide.
Caz is a terrific guide. Was the most responsive of the Capetown Tours by Locals, guides, has perfect English and intelligible for even my wife and my senior ears. Was VERY open about everything Capetown and South Africa. We were most interested in history, culture, art, and the unique Capetown floral kingdom and Caz was fully informed on all aspects. I highly recommend her services.
Example itinerary – the order of the days can be adjusted according to weather, availability and your interests. Day 1 – Table Mountain, Cape Town & Kirstenbosch: Begin with a morning ascent of Table Mountain by aerial cableway, weather permitting, for spectacular views over the city. Explore one of Cape Town's colourful neighbourhoods and discover its history and culture before lunch. We then visit Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, beautifully situated against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. Day 2 – Cape Peninsula: Follow the Atlantic coastline and spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. Enjoy lunch at a seaside restaurant before visiting the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Day 3 – Cape Winelands: Explore the historic towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, with wine tastings at selected estates and lunch among the vineyards. The pace and order can be adapted during your stay to make the most of the weather and your interests.
