I've traveled and worked all over South Africa, but Cape Town has always been home. My roots here run deep - my ancestors arrived from Holland around 1696! After years in the corporate world, I took a step back and explored my own country like a tourist. That journey led me to an unexpected passion: guiding. What started as giving travel tips to friends turned into a full-time career, and I’ve never looked back. Now, with 15 years of experience, I get to do what I love every day - sharing the incredible history, diverse cultures, and stunning landscapes of Cape Town with visitors from all over the world. When I’m not guiding, you’ll find me outdoors - birdwatching, photographing wildlife, camping, enjoying wine farms, or having a good old-fashioned braai (BBQ) with friends. I love exploring lesser-known spots, always searching for hidden gems to share. My passion for this vibrant city shines through in every tour I lead, whether I'm guiding visitors on top of the iconic Table Mountain, exploring the bustling streets of Bo-Kaap, or diving into the historical depths of Robben Island, I eloquently bring Cape Town’s stories to life. Known for my attention to detail, I ensure every experience is seamless and tailored to the unique interests of each guest. I specialize in personalized tours, ensuring an experience tailored to your interests - whether you’re a history buff, nature lover, or are just here to soak up the beauty. Meeting fellow travelers and sharing this incredible city is what excites me most. Let’s explore Cape Town together - you’ll leave with unforgettable memories and a deeper connection to this special place. Cape Town, known locally as “The Mother City,” is best experienced over several days. Having been a tourist in my own country, I’ve discovered many hidden gems that entertain, delight and educate. Spending three days together allows me to share a richer narrative and provide a deeper understanding of the history, people and cultures that shape Cape Town today. Because many activities are weather dependent, a multi-day tour also gives us the flexibility to adjust plans and enjoy each experience in the best conditions possible. Over three days we can ascend Table Mountain by aerial cableway, stroll through Cape Town’s colorful neighborhoods, enjoy unique culinary experiences, explore the breathtaking Cape Peninsula, visit the famous penguin colony, and discover nearly 350 years of winemaking tradition in our celebrated wine regions. While I can’t predict the weather, I can promise we’ll make the most of our time together.
Day 1: We begin by ascending Table Mountain via the aerial cableway for spectacular views over the city. Afterwards, we’ll explore one of Cape Town’s colourful neighbourhoods, famous for its brightly painted houses and rich cultural history, before enjoying a delicious lunch. The day ends with a visit to the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Day 2: We follow a circular route around the Cape Peninsula, including the breathtaking Chapman's Peak Drive. Highlights include the Cape Point Lighthouse, the Cape of Good Hope (the most south-western tip of Africa), lunch at a seaside restaurant, and a visit to the charming penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Day 3: Explore the renowned wine regions of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, stroll through both historic towns, and enjoy wine tastings at selected estates, with lunch at one of the vineyards. All tours can be fully customised to suit your interests.
