What a wonderful day. Claudia picked us up promptly at the hotel for our peninsula tour. She clearly is a local with excellent driving skills. She navigated some back road out or Camps Bay to avoid traffic so we could beat the crowds. We drove the peninsula counter clockwise, which was a good idea. We arrived right on time to see the adorable Penguins at Boulder’s Beach. They were active in the beach and in the water and there were not too many people yet. Next we drove to the incredibly scenic Cape Point. Did the touristy things (photos at the south-western most sign) and then we hiked up to the light house. Spectacular views and Claudia knew where to take the best pictures. We drove back over stunning Chapman’s Peak. We managed to see some wildlife on the way, Eland, Red Hartebeest and a troop of baboons. We got some great photos. The tour took about 8 hours, so we were back in the hotel at around 5 pm. All in all, a highly memorable day. A drive over the peninsula is not to be missed when you are in Cape Town. Consider Claudia as your guide, I would highly recommend her. We would definitely choose her again.
