With years of experience as a licensed guide, I bring to my tours a lot of local knowledge delivered in a professional, friendly and entertaining way.

My background is actually in sociology: I studied Political Sciences & Sociology and during college and graduate school I lived abroad in Italy and in France. This has greatly improved my intercultural communication skills and made me even more passionate about sharing and "translating" Romanian culture.

After doing my PhD in sociology, for several years I taught at the University and learned at least as much as I taught! It was a marvelous experience which helped me better communicate and capture the attention of an audience.

As a professional licensed guide, my goal is to ensure the best private tours and experiences for travelers interested in more than scratching the surface.

Welcome to Bucharest! I am Alina, your local guide - sociologist and teacher - passionate about Bucharest's history and architecture.

On our day tour I will make sure you connect to the city life, local history and culture, while visiting the best of what Bucharest has to offer. I will show you the main landmarks and gladly share the story and life of the city from behind the scenes.

My mission is to provide a very good and interesting introduction to the history and culture of the Romanian capital. My tours are interactive and flexible, answering your curiosity to understand how Romanians live nowadays and how they think and feel about their past and future.

In a full day tour we will explore and make sense out of Bucharest's rich heritage: a Balkan flavour due to its Byzantine and Turkish influence, Communist heritage laying beside beautiful French, Romanian and Art Deco architecture and, most importantly, amazing lively atmosphere.
