Welcome to Berlin! It derserves your attention! It is the most interesting, dynamic and multifaceted city today. My name is Karin and I take great pleasure knowing that you have chosen Berlin for your visit and have a great desire that you come to understand this complex city so riddled with history. I am an experienced, knowledgable, certified local tour guide for Berlin and Potsdam. Even though I was born here, I did not grow up here. I came back to Berlin from Spain (with long interludes in Canada and California) in 1994. What I found was incredibly uniuqe: a city toppeling over with so much history and history in the making. From the first moment on I was spellbound. I became obsessed with its history and development. I talked to people both from the East and West to find out their stories and opinions. Today, I have the feeling Berlin is catching up with itself to finally reach its potential that was interupted with the rise of the 3rd. Reich. I want to share with you the love and compassion I have developed for Berlin and take you on that journey. Even though I have set private tours, they can be planed according to your interests and time. I give walking tours, tours using public transport, taxi, hired car or minivan. You can choose to have a general overview, or go in depth into a particular subject or neighbourhood. It is well worth your time. Explore different themes such as Jewish life then and now, the Cold War along with private life in Eastern Germany, Imperial Berlin, WWII as well as getting off the beaten track to show you the fascinating and varied neighbourhoods, each one with its own development and history. In all my private tours I use images and newspaper articles to illustrate the past and draw links to the present. My tours include recommendations to help you with any special interests or needs you might have. I am looking forward to meeting you! Certified Tour Guide for Berlin and Potsdam Licensed to show: Cecilienhof Palace, Charlottenburg Palace (new wing) and Park, Bildergalerie Park Sanssouci, Potsdam Schönhausen Palace, Grunewald Jagdschloss (Hunting Palace) Germany does not allow tour guides to drive hired cars or minivans. Karin was fabulous!! We enjoyed our day with her and Jan. She really knew the history and culture and explained all the deep history beautifully. Our group of six had a wonderful day starting with a delightful coffee shop and wonderful lunch options at the market. We loved Berlin and hope to return. Thanks Karin for a lovely tour.

Hi Norma, thank you! We had so much fun! It was a joy for us to meet you and take in your interest in Germany and its current culture and history! Jürgen and I also had a lovely day with you and would love to meet you again! Have a wonderful cruise! Karin
Karin and our driver, Jorgen, were awesome. She is so knowledgable and customized our tour to our specific desires. We are so glad that we chose the tour with a driver as we were able to see so much more than if we used public transportation. Plus, the travel time can be spent discussing the sites and Berlin history. The tour was worth every penny. We hope to return...

Hi Edward and Teresa, thank you so much! We enjoyed your visit so much and were happy to show you those important places. And we did have great converstions in the minivan going from place to place. Have lots of fun on the rest of your stay and we hope to hear from you again! Karin & Jürgen
We were staying in Berlin and looking for a day trip attraction outside the city. We booked a tour with Karin to Dresden, with other stops along the way. Scheduling was easy, and Karin did a great job providing historic and current commentary. Perhaps the most fun (and at our request) was flying down the Autobahn at who knows what speed, with some heavy German rock...
Our guided tour with Karin was amazing. She is a knowledge expert on World War 2 as well as the Cold War. We also learned about Germany today. She is very personable and a delight to spend time with. Her driver is quite wonderful as well. I would recommend Karin as a guide 100%.
