In 2013, I passed through Berlin by accident—and never left. I’m Ben, a history teacher and certified tour guide, and even after all these years, I still find it incredible that I call this city home. Born and raised in Israel, I grew up with the idea of Germany as the "forbidden land" and Berlin as the "capital of evil." But perhaps that’s exactly what drew me here—the city's layers of history, its resilience, and its power to transform. As a scholar of European and German history, I initially thought Berlin would be just another stop on my journey. Instead, I found a city unlike any other—complex, fascinating, and impossible to ignore. That’s why I stayed. That’s why I became a guide. And that’s why I love sharing my knowledge and passion for Berlin with visitors from around the world. What You Can Expect on My Tours 🔹 History Comes Alive – Walk through Berlin’s most iconic landmarks and hidden gems as I bring the city’s history to life, from Prussian grandeur to the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall. 🔹 Jewish Heritage & Memory – As an expert on Jewish life and history, I provide an insider’s perspective on the past, present, and future of Jewish life in Berlin and Germany. 🔹 Beyond the Landmarks – Explore the stunning palaces of Potsdam, experience the vibrant energy of Kreuzberg’s street art scene, or embark on a food and culture tour that dives into Berlin’s diverse flavors. I also offer fully customized tours tailored to your interests. With its parks, museums, and the palace of Sanssouci, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Potsdam is a perfect day trip from Berlin—it's just 18 miles (30 kilometers) from the German capital, on the Havel River. and is easily accessible with trains. A visit to Potsdam combines a beautiful and breathtaking nature experience at the wonderful Sanssouci gardens, picturesque architecture and a lively peek into the lives of European novelty in the 18th and 19th centuries. We pay special tribute to Germany's most famous monarch, Fredrik II (a. k. a. "Fredrik The Great").
After a hotel pick-up, we will head to the train station and travel to Potsdam. During our visit, we will explore: Sanssouci Park and Palace (UNESCO World Heritage Site) * The New Palace The Orangery Palace The Dutch Windmill The Grave of Frederick the Great The Church of Peace (Friedenskirche) Afterward, we’ll enjoy a lunch break in Potsdam’s charming old town center. We will then continue with: The Beautiful Dutch Quarter The WWII Soviet War Memorial The Square of Unity Alter Markt From there, we’ll take the train back to Berlin, returning to your hotel feeling happy and fulfilled. * Please note that guiding inside Sanssouci Palace is done via an audio guide
