In 2013, I passed through Berlin by accident—and never left. I’m Ben, a history teacher and certified tour guide, and even after all these years, I still find it incredible that I call this city home. Born and raised in Israel, I grew up with the idea of Germany as the "forbidden land" and Berlin as the "capital of evil." But perhaps that’s exactly what drew me here—the city's layers of history, its resilience, and its power to transform. As a scholar of European and German history, I initially thought Berlin would be just another stop on my journey. Instead, I found a city unlike any other—complex, fascinating, and impossible to ignore. That’s why I stayed. That’s why I became a guide. And that’s why I love sharing my knowledge and passion for Berlin with visitors from around the world. What You Can Expect on My Tours 🔹 History Comes Alive – Walk through Berlin’s most iconic landmarks and hidden gems as I bring the city’s history to life, from Prussian grandeur to the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall. 🔹 Jewish Heritage & Memory – As an expert on Jewish life and history, I provide an insider’s perspective on the past, present, and future of Jewish life in Berlin and Germany. 🔹 Beyond the Landmarks – Explore the stunning palaces of Potsdam, experience the vibrant energy of Kreuzberg’s street art scene, or embark on a food and culture tour that dives into Berlin’s diverse flavors. I also offer fully customized tours tailored to your interests. This itinerary was perfect! Packed, but perfect! We saw all of the sites and heard all the history behind each one. Highly recommend this tour
Knowledgeable, flexible and such a pleasant person. We spent the day with him and saw so much of Berlin. He rearranged the tour to try to avoid some morning rain. We learned about the history of Berlin and had a great lunch. We highly recommend him and would book him again.
Ben Fisher was our tour guide for Total Berlin, walking tour! The entire tour from start to finish was well-planned and orchestrated. Ben kept us readily informed by providing a backdrop to the Holocaust by explaining in depth how WWI and the Great Depression (yes, the collapse of the stock market), both of those combined, resulted in the formation of the Nazi regime, WWII, and eventually, the Holocaust. Ben showed us many of the most anticipated sights of Berlin, including: The Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Hitler’s bunker, Holocaust Memorial, remnants of the Berlin Wall, divisions of East and West Berlin, Checkpoint Charlie, the famous book burning site, and honestly, so many other points of interest along the way, that I’ve only listed a few honestly. It was worth every bit, and I also appreciated that Ben kept us at a pace that my dad, who’s older, could maintain. The tour was inclusive and interactive and I highly recommend to anyone coming to Berlin who wants a comprehensive overview of the sights and history that this city has to offer. FIVE STARS! Thank you Ben!
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour! We got to see all the highlights of Berlin in one day and Ben made the time go by quickly! He was so full of information but didn’t overwhelm us. Everything he told us was useful and we fell in love with Berlin because of him. He had great rest stops planned throughout and in general was our favorite guide so far! Don’t let the 6 hour time frame scare you off because it went in the blink of the eye! Highly recommend!
Ben was friendly, smart, thoughtful, engaging, aware of our interests, personable, attentive, eager to please….i could go on and on. Ben went above and beyond to make our time with him special. We were sad our deep conversations had to come to an end.
We thoroughly enjoyed this very informative tour of Berlin with Ben. Ben is knowledgeable, personable, and kind. We truly enjoyed hearing his narrative on the current and past events in Berlin and German history. He presents information in a factual, non biased way, but is happy to share personal thoughts and anecdotes when asked. The tour was timed perfectly, with enough time at the city's landmarks, a great coffee shop when we were cold, an enjoyable lunch, and time to ask questions and linger when we wanted. We began at 10 am and finished at 4 pm. This was our first visit to Berlin and we are so thankful we hired Ben. We are history buffs and were happy to hear his recommendations for museums, as well as restaurants. We highly recommend Ben for this full day tour.
