Welcome to Berlin! It derserves your attention! It is the most interesting, dynamic and multifaceted city today. My name is Karin and I take great pleasure knowing that you have chosen Berlin for your visit and have a great desire that you come to understand this complex city so riddled with history. I am an experienced, knowledgable, certified local tour guide for Berlin and Potsdam. Even though I was born here, I did not grow up here. I came back to Berlin from Spain (with long interludes in Canada and California) in 1994. What I found was incredibly uniuqe: a city toppeling over with so much history and history in the making. From the first moment on I was spellbound. I became obsessed with its history and development. I talked to people both from the East and West to find out their stories and opinions. Today, I have the feeling Berlin is catching up with itself to finally reach its potential that was interupted with the rise of the 3rd. Reich. I want to share with you the love and compassion I have developed for Berlin and take you on that journey. Even though I have set private tours, they can be planed according to your interests and time. I give walking tours, tours using public transport, taxi, hired car or minivan. You can choose to have a general overview, or go in depth into a particular subject or neighbourhood. It is well worth your time. Explore different themes such as Jewish life then and now, the Cold War along with private life in Eastern Germany, Imperial Berlin, WWII as well as getting off the beaten track to show you the fascinating and varied neighbourhoods, each one with its own development and history. In all my private tours I use images and newspaper articles to illustrate the past and draw links to the present. We enjoyed our tour of Berlin and its history with Karin. She was very knowledgeable and helped bring Berlin’s story to life as we walked around the city. We had some rain and she was very adaptable finding inside locations that were historical and interesting until the weather passed. We highly recommend Karin when you’re in Berlin.
If you are looking for an energetic, knowledgeable, English speaking and most personable guide who will give you 150%, Karin is an obvious choice. She is passionate about her Berlin birthplace. She has studied the events that shaped today's Berlin as well as the historical and artistic aspects of the often abundantly beautiful architecture. You will view all the many "must see" sites and piece together their relationship to the cultural, historical and political climate - past and present. An added bonus is using public transportation - getting a brief glimpse into how the "real" Berliners live and work today. Karin provids a very active tour so lace up your most comfy walking shoes prior to setting out. Your only regret will be not having several more days to spend with Karin.
Karin was wonderful. We got off the train at the wrong stop and she had us wait and caught up with us quickly. She altered the tour to fit our tight schedule and everyone’s must see lists. There were 10 adults of all ages. She is very knowledgeable and her English was great! I would highly recommend her!

We had a very enjoyable and comprehensive city tour of Berlin with our tour guide Karin. She was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the city. Karen met us at our hotel and we walked and took public transportation to all of the sites listed on the agenda while receiving wonderful commentary. Her English was impeccable. The tour was well paced, and we were given opportunities to rest while she spoke to us. I would highly recommend Karin and this tour for anyone wanting a comprehensive tour of Berlin.
