Welcome to Berlin! It derserves your attention! It is the most interesting, dynamic and multifaceted city today. My name is Karin and I take great pleasure knowing that you have chosen Berlin for your visit and have a great desire that you come to understand this complex city so riddled with history. I am an experienced, knowledgable, certified local tour guide for Berlin and Potsdam. Even though I was born here, I did not grow up here. I came back to Berlin from Spain (with long interludes in Canada and California) in 1994. What I found was incredibly uniuqe: a city toppeling over with so much history and history in the making. From the first moment on I was spellbound. I became obsessed with its history and development. I talked to people both from the East and West to find out their stories and opinions. Today, I have the feeling Berlin is catching up with itself to finally reach its potential that was interupted with the rise of the 3rd. Reich. I want to share with you the love and compassion I have developed for Berlin and take you on that journey. Even though I have set private tours, they can be planed according to your interests and time. I give walking tours, tours using public transport, taxi, hired car or minivan. You can choose to have a general overview, or go in depth into a particular subject or neighbourhood. It is well worth your time. Explore different themes such as Jewish life then and now, the Cold War along with private life in Eastern Germany, Imperial Berlin, WWII as well as getting off the beaten track to show you the fascinating and varied neighbourhoods, each one with its own development and history. In all my private tours I use images and newspaper articles to illustrate the past and draw links to the present. Karin was wonderful. We got off the train at the wrong stop and she had us wait and caught up with us quickly. She altered the tour to fit our tight schedule and everyone’s must see lists. There were 10 adults of all ages. She is very knowledgeable and her English was great! I would highly recommend her!

We had a very enjoyable and comprehensive city tour of Berlin with our tour guide Karin. She was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the city. Karen met us at our hotel and we walked and took public transportation to all of the sites listed on the agenda while receiving wonderful commentary. Her English was impeccable. The tour was well paced, and we were given opportunities to rest while she spoke to us. I would highly recommend Karin and this tour for anyone wanting a comprehensive tour of Berlin.
Karin was an amazing tour guide! She was very knowledgeable and provided more insight than we ever could have gotten if we had ventured out on our own. She adapted the tour to our interests and also navigated the Berlin marathon detours. She was very kind and friendly, too. We had such an enjoyable day with her!

She'll skillfully navigate you using the public transit to show both sides of Berlin and all of the major historical sites and attractions in an efficient way while keeping a cheerful conversation going. Karin did a great job taking us to all the highlights of Berlin. It started off later than we had hoped due to our train from the cruise port. I kept Karin informed and she responded quickly so we could match up our meeting spot. It was a hot day and this is mostly a walking tour with a few metro trips interspersed. Additionally we purposefully did not want to stop for lunch so that we could see more. I think we got to see everything we wanted. Karin did a good job giving us stories and details about what we were seeing. At the end, she made sure to bring us back to where we needed to catch our bus/train back to port. I would definitely book with this guide again.
