I'm an ex-pat American, a permanent resident of Croatia, and have lived in Split for 15 years. I published DiscoverSplit, the city's only free, English language newspaper for tourists which you can see online along with DiscoverSplit's Restaurant Guide and the Split/Dalmatia Travel Guide. All of these are supported and approved by the Tourist Board of Split, whom I work with as a consultant. I also created the first and only walking map of all the streets and alleys within the actual Palace of Diocletian--which is part of the newspaper. A visit to the 3rd oldest synagogue in Europe is included if you wish as well. An authentic immersion into the past and present of this remarkable Old Town. Before our lunch at one of Split's oldest and most authentic, family-owned bistros, we'll stroll through the amazingly well preserved Palace and its substructures. We will drive up the coast to Krka National Park beginning with a fun trip up river on a water taxi to the park entrance. . . two hour walk through the park, enjoy pristine nature, waterfalls, boat trip to the monastery and Skradinski but plus an authentic restored village area of water powered mechanical devices--including a water powered washing machine! Then we can go to the seaside town of Skradin for a typical local lunch, which is extra. After lunch, our private car will take us back down the coast to your ship.
