Hello and welcome to my beautiful country of Croatia! My name is Mirko and I come from the southern part of our coastline, amazing Dalmatia region, famous for its natural beauties and cultural heritage. Sibenik is my hometown, hidden gem between bigger cites Zadar and Split, which both are just one hours driving distance. Very close are also two national parks, hundreds of islands, clean rivers, the highest mountain in Croatia and five Unesco world heritage sites. Together they create ideal scenery for a perfect vacation. I have been a tour guide since 2010 and completely devoted to this call. I speak fluent English and Spanish language and in the last nine years I have shown my country to thousands of guests from all over the world. I have been working for the big and small tour operators from Croatia, UK, US, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Japan, Taiwan. . . I have worked a lot as a private guide in Croatia, and of course I consider all of my guests as VIP guests. To this job led me a stroke of luck. After finishing my studies and work in Zagreb, I spent one year in Spain working in a hotel in San Sebastian. There I realized that tourism is my call of destiny since I like traveling, meeting other cultures, languages, gastronomy, history. . . and the most important working with people! From that moment on I am very happy person because my passion is my job :) After, I also worked in an incoming travel agency for several years and for five years also as private driver guide in Croatia. Therefore I have been guiding and organizing tours, creating customized itineraries for individuals and small groups all around Croatia and abroad. For this I also recently purchased new van Opel Vivaro 8+1 seats, you can see the photos in my profile. But of course if preferred I can organize another car or van. So whether you need a city walk in Sibenik, half day excursion or even a multi-day tour in Croatia, I would be glad to be your guide. Krka falls and one of Dalmatia cities, it is a great combination to explore our natural and cultural heritage. So put on your comfortable shoes and get ready for me to show you these beautiful places : ) The national park Krka is most famous for Skradinski buk waterfall which is part of our walk. You will enjoy exploring waterfalls and lakes by walking on wooden footpaths between the trees and travertine barriers. Then follows a nice boat ride to the small town of Skradin. After the park we will do a city tour of the city you have chosen. It can be: Split, a vibrant big city, rich with medieval and Roman monuments. Or Sibenik, a beautiful gem on the Adriatic coast with gothic and renaissance old town. (If you prefer, we can just do full day Krka) Regardless which one you choose, we will walk their narrow stone streets and get to know why they are proud members of the UNESCO family. After time for lunch, return to hotel or cruise ship.
Mirko was outstanding! He was very informative and knowledgeable. He went the extra mile and even tailored our tour to meet our energy level by adding a detour hike. He recommended a wonderful restaurant for lunch also. His tour of Split at the end of the day was very enlightening, and he even managed to get us on the last tour up the bell tower! It was a perfect day, and we would definitely recommend taking a tour with Mirko.
Mirko was our favorite tour guide on this 2-week trip. We were glad we booked him for two days, for visits to Krka and Plitvice Lake National Parks. Both parks were beautiful and it was great to be with a guide who was so familiar with them and could navigate us very efficiently. Mirko was very personable and extremely knowledgeable about many topics. He provided great information on the parks, Croatia history and all things Croatia, but we also had conversations on many other topics during our long car rides to/from the parks. I highly recommend booking any tour with Mirko.
This was a fabulous tour, well worth the time & money! Mirko was an awesome tour guide!!! He went above & beyond helping us find the things we were looking for in Old Town which was amazing to see with the added knowledge of the history! The park was beyond beautiful!!! I would highly recommend a shore excursion with Mirko. He was very willing to work with me to curate a day to meet the specific needs of my family. Touring the Krka Waterfalls and park was a highlight which ended with a boat ride down the river to Sebinek. We had requested to visit a local winery and do a wine tasting lunch. Mirko arranged for us to visit Ante Sladic Winery. This generational family run winery produces every delicious wines and treated us to a lovely wine tasting and food pairing (featuring all locally grown and produced meats, cheeses and produce). Mirko was flexible and very accomodating (our ship arrived in port 2 hours later that scheduled) and was very easy to communicate with. Mirko is highly educated and was able to share lots of historical and interesting information about his county with us. Everyone in my group thoroughly enjoyed this excursion.
THe drive from Split to Krka was a bit over an hour and worth the drive to the beautiful park and waterfalls. Mirko was a fabulous tour guide and we highly recommend him. He truly loves what he does and was very fun to be with all day. He knows all about Croatia. He speaks very good English and Spanish and Croatian. He is an excellent driver too.
