Welcome to southern Croatia, to the region of Dalmatia, a land of clear blue sea, countless rocky islands, and a strong Mediterranean spirit. Born and raised on the Adriatic coast, I have spent my life exploring the landscapes, history, and traditions of Dalmatia. From prehistoric caves hidden in the karst mountains to UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Diocletian’s Palace in Split, this is a place I know not only through study, but through everyday life. As your guide, I offer more than a standard tour. I aim to present Dalmatia as it truly is, through its history, culture, landscapes, and the traditions that still shape local life today. Together we can walk through Split’s ancient streets, once part of a Roman imperial residence, or explore the nearby coast and islands where the rhythm of life remains closely tied to the sea and stone. Dalmatia is a place of stunning natural beauty—karst rivers carving deep canyons, waterfalls cascading into emerald pools, and a breathtaking coastline shaped by centuries of wind and waves. Add to that a mild Mediterranean climate, and you have the perfect setting for unforgettable adventures. Working in such surroundings makes my job as a tour guide not just easier, but truly rewarding. I feel a strong connection to the place where I come from. Yet I believe that truly understanding a region requires constant learning and curiosity. For that reason, I dedicate much of my time to studying history, natural sciences, and marine biology. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by the landscapes and the sea of Dalmatia, which led me to write, teach, and conduct research in marine biology, always with a focus on sustainability and the relationship between people and nature. Becoming a guide has allowed me to bring these interests together, history, nature, storytelling, and genuine human connection. Guiding is not simply about showing places, but about sharing context and helping visitors understand how this region has evolved through time. What I value most are the conversations, curiosity, and shared moments that emerge while exploring Dalmatia together. If you are looking for an experience that goes beyond the surface and offers a deeper sense of place, I would be glad to guide you through it. * Licensed tourist guide for Split-Dalmatia County and Sibenik-Knin County * University degree and an active researcher in the field of Marine Biology * Driver's Licence (B)

Overview of your Split tour

A perfect tour to delve into the fascinating history of Dalmatia and discover the stunning architecture, cultural landmarks, and vibrant local life that make this region so unique. Trogir is a charming town located on a small island named by the ancient Greek colonists. It has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1997. We walk through the preserved Romanesque-Gothic streets, enjoy the seafront and admire the old castles, churches and other important buildings. The city of Split is the second largest city in Croatia. The origins of Split are unknown to this day. One of the most successful Roman emperors, Diocletian, decided to build a palace in Split and retire. His palace, a World Heritage Site since 1979 at UNESCO, is still inhabited by locals and attracts many visitors. We will explore the secrets of the palace by walking trough streets where you can still find traces from all periods of Dalmatian history. * I can accomodate bigger groups. Please contact me for a customized tour.

My husband and I have traveled around the world and have engaged with many tour guides during our travels. We decided for our second trip to Trogir and Split to select Peter as our guide based on his educational background and the reviews of prior bookings. Peter has a wealth of information and history of the surroundings of his home. Peter has such detailed knowledge and presents it in such away that everyone can understand. He is open to questions and responds to everything asked with facts and does not evade difficult questions. In addition to this specific tour Peter is a Marine Biologist and has done extensive research on the coast line of Croatia and its fish population and the current conditions of the sea. He is published in both research papers and books. Peter is easy to talk to and able to explain everything in great detail. We were thrilled with our choice.

Best tour guide we ever had. He was considerate of our needs & time restraints. After speaking to us, he individualized the tour to what he thought we would want to see. After spending 5 hours with Petar, we all walked away with a true sense of Split, its people & its history. He was extremely funny, kind & knowledgeable. Would recommend him highly.

Peter is a superb choice for an engaging, educational and fun day ! We thoroughly enjoyed his interaction with us and his knowledge is extensive. His history delivery on Split and Trogir was easy to follow and him being a marine biologist as well gave us a great appreciation for the sea health and how it affects all of us each day ! We Highly recommend Peter!!

Fabulous and funny! Not to miss! Peter was an amazing guide with a wealth of knowledge because he is a native "Splitter" and also a city councilman right now. He is also a marine biologist publishing a book about sea snails as well. He has a vast repertoire of knowledge about architecture and history that we were able to also discuss how the slavic languages are same or different and theories behind language and tribal settlement and relate that to religion and government and the current geopolitics.
