Hello everyone! My name is Antonjeta, born and raised at the very heart of Split in neighbourhood Grad, next to the walls of the world famous Diocletian's palace. I have been a proffesional tour guide for a bit more than 5 years , but I have earned my masters degree in archeology and germanistic studies at Univesity of Zadar a long time ago. I have previously worked in museums , restoration institutions as well in tour companies thanks to my language speaking skills Besides learning about history of my amazing hometown Split and Croatia of course, while walking through hidden streets of the Palace and scouting Roman traces, I will provide you a perfect window to look into the lives of a typical Dalmatian person living inside this beautiful palace/city with a continuity of life for more than 1700 Years! I enjoy traveling , meeting new people and sharing with them my experience and vision of my hometown with its vibrant streets and sometimes a bit peculiar inhabitants. Join me to see different Split, history of Croatia and local everyday life mixture on the well known roads and off the beaten paths that only local know. - Master's degree in archaeology and German language & literature , University of Zadar 2001 - Licensed tour guide for Split-Dalmatia County 2018 For my tours, I have no restrictions

In the Roman period, Split became the Emperor's residence, later the place of admiration. By walking the streets of Diocletian's palace you will hear all about this great emperor, why he built the palace in Split and why the palace turned from the palace of the Roman emperor to a medieval town. The Roman layer of Split is still an integral part of modern City where locals live every day, drinking coffee on of the best preserved Roman squares in Europe. But Split has more to offer than just the Roman heritage. Turbulent history left many marks that can be visible in its architecture and monuments. Immerse yourselves into all the layers of the amazing history and known and hidden gems Split has to offer. If you wish to customize this tour, please do not hesitate to ask!
