Mekong Delta Discovery My Tho & Ben Tre

We will discover the vast network of canals and channels that comprise the Mekong Delta. In the morning we drive down to the market town of My Tho where we board a traditional sampan. Get a glimpse of the distinct agricultural life of the vibrant southern Delta region while you float past verdant fields. Stop at a village to taste local specialties, hear Vietnamese folk music, and savor a delicious meal.

Upon arrival at My Tho, we visit Vinh Trang Pagoda which dates back to the late 19th century. We then board a traditional sampan to cruise down the river around four beautiful islands known as Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Tortoise islands. We stop at Unicorn Island for a short walk around over a 'countryside lane' to see orchards and enjoy tropical fruits and folk song music, which is performed by local people and visit the fruit plantation. We take a leisurely boat ride on a hand-rowed sampan through Thoi Son canal and soak in the beauty of the countryside and visit a family business of honey-bee farmers and enjoy honey tea and coconut candy at their workshop. Then, we have lunch at a local restaurant and some free time to relax. Some last time to relax before we return to Ho Chi Minh City where the trip ends at your hotel at around 5:00pm.
