Commonly known as "Saigon", Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city in Vietnam, and a vibrant one. Home to 13 million citizens and 8.5 million scooters, this city offers many interesting historical, religious, and cultural sites. If you are interested in a shore excursion from Phu My Port, I would be delighted to take you on an exciting private city tour. I will share the history of the city with you and I will show you how the city has developed since the war. We can still see well-preserved colonial buildings and war relics in the city. On the other hand, high rise and modern buildings are making their presence felt. Although the city is chaotic with endless slow-moving traffic, the hustle and bustle of the city do not affect the unique friendliness of the people. The city is famous for its delicious and unique culinary dishes that makes one forget about the calories. Take a sip of Vietnamese coffee while seeing the world pass by. Above all, just soak in the life of the local people.
*Meet and greet at the outside of the port gate (700 meters from your dock). *Our first stop is to explore small alleys and local market and it is a great place to learn about Vietnamese daily life. *Drive to Thien Hau pagoda in Chinatown where we you might admire to greatly domestic architecture. *Take 40-minute trishaw ride around several street markets. *Drive along a canal in district 7 to see the huge contrast between the poor stilts houses and new high rise buildings. Then, you will have a sip of Vietnamese coffee in the coffee ship. *Drive back to downtown of Ho Chi Minh city and visit War Remnant Museum. * I also recommend a great local restaurant for lunch. *Tour around Dong Khoi area which includes the General Post Office, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Rex Hotel, and the City Hall. The highlight is the former CIA headquarters where the last American helicopter landed on the top for evacuation in Fall of Saigon in 1975.
