Come and join me in this exciting 2.5-day tour! Explore the vast and ever-busy Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in Vietnam. Commonly known as "Saigon", this city has since risen from the devastation of war to a fast growing city. We can still see well-preserved colonial buildings and war relics in the city. The second day will be spent at Cu Chi Tunnels which were used during the war. The tunnels are part of an elaborate tunnel system which provided an interesting underground life by the Viet Cong soldiers. Visit the charming town of Ben Tre in Mekong Delta, famous for its picturesque canals and rivers. The delta offers plenty of orchards, fields, plantations and swamplands. This is an interesting tour combining history, culture, and nature! Day 1 - Ho Chi Minh City tour - full day. * Explore small alleys and local fresh markets. * Visit Thien Hau Pagoda in Chinatown. * Drive along a canal to see the huge contrast between the poor stilts houses and new high rise buildings. * Visit the War Remnants Museum. * Tour around Dong Khoi area which includes the General Post Office, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the former CIA headquarters, the Rex Hotel, and the City Hall. * Optional: 40 minutes trishaw ride around Chinatown. Day 2 - Cu Chi Tunnels tour - half day. * At Cu Chi Tunnels, we will see booby traps and trapdoors and even experience walking through the cramped and narrow passageways. Day 3 - Mekong Delta tour - full day. * Take a cruise along the Mekong river. * Have a relaxed walk through fruit farms and villages. * Venture around beautiful villages by a tuk tuk. * Learn to make coconut candies and taste local fruit. * A sampan ride along a picturesque canal. * Lunch at a riverside restaurant.
