I've lived and worked in San Francisco since 1975, and am quite fond of—and, perhaps, slightly jaundiced toward—my long-adopted home, a. k. a. "The City". I have been numbered as a local student/practitioner of fine, commercial and industrial arts: commercial graphics, multi-media design, and as a craftsman in our once-mighty commercial printing industry. I'm occasionally zealous in defense/restoration of natural habitats, parks, regional agriculture, and historic architecture. Special appreciation must go to food—glorious food! Cosmopolitanism has its benefits; San Francisco is a foodie's paradise. The ride never ends. Truly I am a tourist in my own life here in "The City", "Baghdad by the Bay", "The Queen of the Pacific", "Fog City", or (more poetically) "the cool, grey city of love". Certified Tour Director, International Tour Management Institute (ITMI), 2015 Member: San Francisco Tour Guide Guild BFA (Drawing), California College of Art, 1975 AAS (Commercial Printing and Liberal Arts), WACC, 1972 none applicable

Experience Nature up front and personal in the park that The City adores. San Francisco was built over ferociously tough (and beautiful) native habitats that originally colonized the bare rock and blowing sand dunes of the San Francisco Peninsula. "The Oak Woodlands" in Golden Gate Park harbors thriving remnant populations of these hardy ecosystems. Drought-loving, fog-loving, salt-loving, and/or alkalinity-loving, they flourish onward. And there are numerous notable structures and fascinating tales to note along the way. * This tour is a fully guided walking tour. Substantial portions are wheelchair accessible. * NOTE:Please have strong hiking shoes/boots and layers of outerwear in case of our famous fog, especially in the early mornings.
