Muir Woods and Sausalito Tour

Muir Woods National Monument is one of my favorite places to visit in the San Francisco Bay Area, being a rare example of an old-growth redwood forest just a dozen miles away from the City. Combining this immersive private tour experience in the shade of the tallest trees in the world with the charming town of Sausalito, its Mediterranean ambiance and houseboats, makes a perfect half-day getaway. The start time is flexible depending on the parking reservation system's availability, so the longer advance notice the better. Morning is the best time to visit, followed by a nice lunch and walk-in Sausalito in the afternoon. Given my passion for nature, I have lots of commentary to provide before entering Muir Woods, but keep in mind National Park Service doesn't allow tour guides to give tours inside the park, where I will only be able to escort you. This preserves the quiet ambiance of the place.

-After meet up, this tour starts with a drive from San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge, with an optional stop for photographs. -Next is a scenic half-hour drive along the windy Pacific Coast Highway 1, through the beautiful Marin Headlands, up and down to Muir Woods National Monument. (My recommendation is to spend at least one hour, up to ninety minutes inside the park. That gives you enough time to see the main redwood groves and take in the magical atmosphere of the forest. ) -Once back to civilized life we will visit Sausalito, a lovely town known for waterfront views, hilltop mansions, houseboats, boutiques and plenty of restaurants. -After about an hour in Sausalito, we will drive back to the agreed endpoint in San Francisco.
