Hello! Think of me as your new New York friend with lots of insider recommendations beyond your tour. Here's a video to get to know me a little better, along with a tour of some lesser-known NYC sites: https://youtu.be/Ht7iqfj74v0?si=ntzXOGQE9n5DYIxs New York is one of the great cities of the world, and I love showing off its history, buildings, stories, and secrets—including New Yorkers' favorite places to dine, drink, shop, and relax. Ever since I moved here 30 years ago, I've been leading intimate tours for family, friends, and now for visitors like you as a licensed New York City tour guide. A little more about me: I am an educator and event planner by training, so my job and passion are to create exciting and meaningful experiences for you and your group to learn about the city and why it is so incredible. I've lived in many New York neighborhoods, been a student at NYU, written books, taught at Columbia University, spent time with celebrities, and lived through 9/11—all of which enrich my knowledge of New York's unique culture, customs, and craziness. My Focus: Greenwich Village has been home for most of my New York life, so I lead lots of tours in this popular neighborhood that includes Washington Square, Christopher Street, Little Island, and the Meatpacking District. Another favorite place for tours is Central Park. It is an engineering and environmental marvel, and New York would be unlivable without it. We also have many other beautiful parks which are great launchpads for learning about and discovering the areas of the city that surround them. And then there's the magnificent Grand Central Terminal, the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, the reborn World Trade Center, 9/11 Memorial, and many other famous places in between that will give you an understanding and sense of New York then and now. Your Interests: I also want to know about what you and your fellow travelers would like to do so that I can design a fun and memorable experience for you. As you consider your time in New York, don't hesitate to contact me with your questions and ideas for customizing a tour to match your goals and schedule. Thanks for your interest and let's have an amazing NYC walk and experience soon! On this trash-to-tranquility tour, we'll walk the amazing High Line elevated promenade, a magical greenway created out of an abandoned freight railroad track. Then, we'll stop off in the once gritty, historic Meatpacking District through which that old railroad used to wind. Next is Little Island, a wondrous park that floats above the Hudson River. Our last, but not least, stop will be atop an old shipping pier for one of New Yark City’s most spectacular and informative views. Easily complement the tour with a meal at one of the cool food, snack or drink options all around, along with fantastic photo ops, people watching and places to put your feet up! Let me know if you have more than six participants, or if this is a work group, as adjusted pricing may apply.
Here's some of what we'll see: • The remarkable High Line • The meatless Meatpacking District • Buildings with a railroad running through them • Manhattan's first and only beach • Where Titanic survivors landed • Miraculous Hudson River Park • Enchanted Little Island • "Super" Pier 57 • Spectacular views of Midtown, Lower Manhattan and New York Harbor • Birthplace of the Oreo cookie
