Call me Slava. Like many New Yorkers I have moved here from somewhere else (Ukraine by way of Boston in 2010). It is here that my love for history has blossomed and it is here that I have chosen to make my home forever: New York or nowhere! This is a great city historically, so much of the timeline of human condition can be traced through the streets and neighborhood of New York City. Everything is connected and I am fascinated with finding the tendencies, the hidden movements, the influences of cultural phenomena that brought us to today. And I love to share so buckle up and I will take you through centuries of colonial history in the modern Financial District, the blossoming and fading of Bohemia in Greenwich Village, the nature of the SoHo Effect as it happened first in SoHo and TriBeCa, architectural curiosities of real estate development around Hudson Yards and Chelsea, creation and adaptation of Central Park, the stages of culinary history of New York and so much more. I pride myself on my ability to customize my guests' experiences so please let me know if you'd like to include or exclude something specific, let's talk. NYC Sightseeing Guide License #1447026-DCA Expires Mar 31, 2024 Non-intermittent NYC guiding experience since April 2012 I am Ukrainian and am not working with travelers from Russian Federation

Are you as nuts for history and food as I am? What can be better than combining the two together! The best way to understand the city and its people is through the stomach and I offer you the scenic route. Like hot knife through brisket we will go through all the basic elements of New York City cuisine, starting with famous New York style pizza and moving on to iconic spots to try pastrami on rye, pickles, smoked salmon, bialys, egg cream, varenyky and more. Come taste New York history.
• Our walking route will go through the old Lower East Side of Manhattan. Now it is divided in smaller neighborhoods like Nolita, Chinatown, East Village, the heart of LES itself but all this used to be the epicenter of the immigrant life in New York and this is where we start our exploration of the city culinary history. • I can't imagine a proper NY food tour without the pizza. The pie as we know it today was invented right here, on the streets of Little Italy and it is here that we will try the iconic slice. A simple dumplings dish will act as an additional appetizer and give us a taste of Chinatown before we move on to Jewish American delis and stores. • The itinerary includes famous New York egg cream (with no eggs and no cream), may also include for an ambitious guest some Ukrainian varenyky (pierogi) and sweets, Italian-American pastry shop or a cardamom bun bakery.
