I have been a licensed guide since 2007, with two missions: One - I wish the world would feel the same way I do every time I look at one of the famous sights on my tour. By giving the best tour I possibly can, I know I get closer to that goal. Two - I feel that I owe New York City for the opportunity it has given me and millions of others, and my tours are a token of my appreciation. To me guiding comes as a package which includes a performance - I view myself as a storyteller, an artist, and a cultural ambassador who breathes life into the streets of New York City. Born and raised in Senegal, the rhythm of West African oral traditions are rooted in my heart. They blend seamlessly with the electrifying pulse of the Big Apple. As an experienced New York City tour guide, professional photographer, and multilingual speaker, I have spent years crafting immersive experiences that transform sightseeing into an art form. With a background in Tourism and Hospitality, and a deep appreciation for history, I approach every tour as a poetic journey, putting together personal narratives, untold stories, and vivid descriptions in order to leave a lasting impact on my audience. Whether guiding visitors through the storied neighborhoods of Harlem, the bustling streets of Midtown, or the scenic waterfronts of Brooklyn, I want you to feel my strong passion for the city in every word. Beyond guiding, I also capture the essence of urban life through photography, preserving fleeting moments that define the soul of New York. My work has been featured in exhibitions and publications, showcasing how I share what’s beyond the surface and find beauty in the everyday. Professional Associations & Leadership Roles: Guides Association of New York City (GANYC) I have held several leadership roles, including: • Vice President (2017–2019) • Chair of Committee to Host the World Convention of Guides (2015) • Board Member at Large (2013–2015 • Chair of Multilingual Guides Committee (2012–2017) Achievements & Certifications: • Licensed NYC Tour Guide (since 2007) – Certified with a high score of 122/150 • Certificate of Excellence – TripAdvisor (2013 & 2016) • Fluent in English, Spanish, French, Wolof, and Diola – Multilingual tours tailored for international guests • Professional Photographer & Instructor – Specializing in urban, architectural, and cultural photography • Winner - Virart Gallery First Annual Competition (2015) • Published Author – “NYC Passion: The Manhattan Picks” – A curated photo book capturing the heart of Manhattan • Featured in 13 Exhibitions – Including features in leading photography magazines • NYC Marathon Finisher – Completed TCS NYC Marathon in 2016 & 2020 • Queens Museum of Art Panorama Challenge Winner (2011) • COVID-19 Vaccinated – Prioritizing guest health and safety Please Note: On my tours where I hire separate Private Transportation, the hired Vehicle and Driver are fully licensed with TCL, License #850192 Ready to explore and capture the true spirit of New York City? Be ready to explore the most famous sites in New York City, learn about them and take incredible photos. The Statue of Liberty visit is done taking the ferry to Liberty Island and spending time there. Then we can proceed to Ellis Island Immigration Museum, before returning to NYC and finishing our sightseeing journey at the site of World Trade Center and the terrorists attacks of September 11th 2001. Since I was in NYC that day, I will share with you my experience of the events, should you want to hear it. You will have plenty of time everywhere we go to capture stunning photos with my professional photographer's advice. There will be an option to have snacks or a quick lunch as well. Throughout this tour, I will share fun facts, historical information and give you the best recommendations based on nearly two decades of guiding in NYC. Every tour is special to me, and yours will be as well. *Note: I can modify the tour, or parts of it, based on your needs, the time or the weather.
