Ciao! I'm Laura, a Sicilian jazz vocalist & songwriter turned New Yorker tour guide. I'm a total extrovert, I love meeting people and sharing not only the Highlights of this magical city but also my personal experiences as an immigrant to the Big Apple. I am always up for a heart-to-heart conversation, funny jokes and to take your pictures ;) What are you waiting for? Come discover NYC with me! About me: I'm an award-winning songwriter and jazz singer born and raised in Sicily, Italy. I landed in New York City in 2010 and fell in love with its rough and electric vibe. I moved to the Big Apple to work as a performer, and to make ends meet I've also held jobs as a private teacher, baby sitter, waitress, translator, personal assistant at the university level, and columnist, until in 2018 I started working as a tour guide. That was a game changer for me, for in tourism I found a great new love! I am a licensed NYC sightseeing tour guide and have been working regularly since 2018 with a variety of companies from the US & around the world. Italian is my first language but I'm also fluent in English and Spanish. My love for languages, history and art, mixed with my 20+ years of professional experience on stage and my outgoing, friendly personality make me a warm and fun tour guide who can connect with people from all walks of live to provide an AUTHENTIC and UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE. I am a proud Sicilian, wife to my wonderful husband and best friend Joe, a dog and cat mom with a deep love for pets and animals in general. I am a foodie and a bit of a goofball. I am a Buddhist and I'm very passionate about social justice. You can say I'm radically inclusive :) I believe happiness is true only if shared and I look forward to sharing my happiness with you! My tours: I offer a variety of walking tours that can be customized to fit your curiosity and desires. When you book a tour with me you know that's YOUR tour and that in me you will find a guide and a friend who's flexible to accommodate your needs. I'll share tips with you on what to do in your free time, where to eat or shop and how to maximize your time making the best of your visit. I truly enjoy my work as a tour guide & taking people around the city I love and that I call home. I'm confident I can make you fall in love with it too. I can't wait to meet you! - NYC Licensed Tour Guide - Batchelor Degree in Music - Professional performer for 20+ years I do not drive in NYC and I don't have a car, but what's more New Yorker than that? We can take the Subway, call Uber or stop a taxi with a finger just as seen on TV :)

The history of NYC started on Manhattan's southernmost coast, an area that today hosts the heart of American finance and so much more. The city developed north but the south of the island is where most immigrants originally migrated to, where the majority of factories were located in the 19th Century, and these small neighbourhoods still carry the signs of those times gone by. Though most of them today are gentrified and have moved towards an upscale reality, the buildings still tell an old story that's worth telling and fascinating to hear. Come south of Houston Street with me where I'll unveil the history & secrets of Lower Manhattan. We'll observe the beauty of old cast iron buildings & fancy boutiques in SoHo & Nolita, plus stroll through Tribeca to immerse ourselves in the dense architectural eclecticism of the Financial District, New York's place of birth. Take the chance to enjoy an espresso in Little Italy accompanied by a true Italian like myself and see how it has been absorbed by Chinatown.
-We would start our tour at Father Fagan Park (between Prince St and 6 Ave) to walk around SoHo. -We would then make our way to the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral and walk through Nolita. -Later, we would enjoy a coffee break at Ferrara Bakery, the oldest Italian store still in existence in Little Italy (since 1892!) and go from espresso and cannoli to Chinese lanterns and authentic products in the span of just one block! -Afterwards, I'll lead you discovering the oldest part of Chinatown as well as walking through Tribeca. -Next, we'd arrive to the Financial District where we'd see the following highlights: ·9/11 Memorial ·St Paul's Chapel ·Zuccotti Park ·Trinity Church ·The Stock Exchange on Wall Street ·The Fearless Girl (one of my favourite statues). -We'll finish our tour with the famous Charging Bull at Bowling Green.

I recommend meeting at Father Fagan Park (between Prince St and 6 Ave). However if you'd rather meet me at your hotel or at any other location, that can be arranged. Travel time from agreed upon location to SoHo is included in the tour duration and it might affect the itinerary.
