I am a life-long New Yorker, and a 5-borough enthusiast (the history, architecture, geography, art, green spaces, and secret spots). My goal as a guide is to make you just as at home here as a local does. My tours help you explore and take a deeper appreciation of my city's architecture, art, history, and culture. I specialize in walking tours, small-groups only, especially for those who are looking for a deep dive or something off the beaten path. These tour model also now ensures the safest way to explore a city. I believe that a tour isn't just about seeing a place; it's about experiencing it, on the ground. New York City has so many sights to see, and so many ways to see them. Maps, guide books, etc, can cover only the basics. I aim to offer something more personal and fun. . . and ultimately memorable. The beauty of New York is that no matter how many times you have visited, or how long you lived here, there are always new places to discover. I have a passion for my city, and I know that you will too after your time with me. Licensed New York City Sightseeing Guide by the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs Board Member, Guides Association of NYC (GANYC) I have been interviewed by NY1 News, Medium.com, and Metro. All tours are designed for exploration on foot, the truly local way to experience NYC, using public transit or Uber where needed. A driver to the starting location can be arranged on request, if absolutely necessary, or I can accompany you in your vehicle.

For the past century, Harlem has been synonymous with NYC's large African-American population and culture. On this walking tour, we'll look at how Harlem evolved-- from a farm village in the Dutch colonial days to wealthy estates after the American Revolution to the Harlem renaissance in the early 20th century. As a local guide, I can give you the insider's look into this area and its often overlooked history. My goal is to give you a deeper appreciation of this wonderful neighborhood, and change the way you see New York and its many diverse areas. See several historic districts and landmarks, including: City College, the Hamilton Grange, the infamous Apollo Theater, Strivers Row, gorgeous historic churches, and more! The tour will end near several famous Harlem eateries including Red Rooster and Sylvia's! Take a journey uptown!
Our tour will meet in west Harlem, by City College. This is easily accessible by public transit. I will explain Harlem's history, with many historical photos for reference, along our walk. Our stops will include: -City College -St. Nicholas Park, which includes the Hamilton Grange -Strivers Row: historic 19th-century townhouses where Scott Joplin, Eubie Blake & other Harlem legends lived. One of many stunning historic Harlem residential districts! -Passing historic houses of worship, such as The Abyssinian Baptist Church -Harlem Walk of Fame: See tributes to Harlem legends -Apollo Theater: See one of the most famous theaters in New York, and visit its lobby! -Numerous murals and artworks around the community -And more!
