I love the island of Oahu for all the outdoor activities she offers: hiking, swimming, canoe paddling, etc. But there's more to like about the Hawaiian Islands than natural beauty. The history and mythology of the Hawaiian people captivate locals and visitors alike. I enjoy learning about them and sharing my knowledge. When family or friends visit, I take them around to the places I enjoy (sightseeing, restaurants, activities) or, if time does not permit, I draw up itineraries for them to explore on their own. From President Obama's favorite shave ice stand to hidden waterfalls and spectacular vistas, I will help you discover way more of the island than you could driving a rental car. Welcome to Honolulu, Oahu. Depending on your interests, we will walk around historical buildings such as Iolani Palace then drive to some beautiful lookout points to enjoy the view. If you prefer jumping into nature, we will hike through a bamboo forest and take in the view of Windward Oahu from the Pali Lookout. Or we can watch the surfers below from Diamond Head Lookout. It would be a shame to miss out on a local bakery treat, shave ice or local lunch spot. Famous military sites include Pearl Harbor Visitors Center [USS Arizona Memorial tickets not included with this tour] and Punchbowl Memorial Cemetery. Great Guide! Donna did a wonderful job creating a tour for us. We even changed it up during the tour and got to eat at a great little place in Chinatown. Donna was very informative and provided the personal experience not available in bigger tour buses. Thank you Donna for a memorable tour.

My husband and I had a wonderful time with Donna earlier this month. We've been to Hawaii many times so were not interested in the sites first timers would want to see. Plus, my husband has mobility issues, so a lot of walking is not feasible. Donna picked us up at our cruise ship and had put together a list of suggested sites for us to visit outside of Honolulu. It was lovely to see parts of Oahu not packed with tourists. Plus, Donna has an immense knowledge of the history, culture, current affairs of Hawaii. We would highly recommend Donna for anyone visiting Honolulu.
Donna was a pleasant, easygoing guide who was very knowledgeable and flexible in her tour. The use of a vehicle made the tour a great way to get an overview of the island. We felt the tour gave us a great introduction to Oahu. We will definitely sign up for one of her other tours when we return.
This was one of the best private tours we have ever taken and we have taken many! Donna Ambrose was fabulous. She introduced us to many of the beautiful outdoor lookout spots in Oahu. She was knowledgable, interesting, sweet and compassionate to us oldsters. She took us to an exotic fruit nursery off the beaten path and to try Portuguese donuts. Donna was a wonderful guide. She went out of her way to accommodate us on a rainy sort of day. Great driver, had some visuals to help us understand island, as was our first visit to Oahu. Got to see the monk seals on the beach too! Was a great day.
Our day and the time we start the tour is flexible and is meant to accommodate your schedule and interests. If you will check into a hotel at some point during the day and wish to do some hiking, I recommend we drop off your luggage with the hotel bellman before starting the tour.
