As we walk through the most historic parts of Boston, we'll share the stories of the people and cultures that made it all possible. From the first arrival of the Puritans from England seeking religious freedom, we'll see the sites and learn what prompted the arrival of others who had a profound impact on the development and growth of Boston - how they were treated and eventually accepted after they arrived. From the Anglicans and French Huguenots to the Irish, Jews, Italians, Asians and Hispanics, we'll chronicle the changes in Boston and their impacts here and elsewhere. We will trace the Black History of Boston as well, from the first free blacks here from the early start to the Abolitionist Movement in Boston and the significance to and from the Civil War. If you have a particular cultural or ethnic interest, we can tailor the tour to emphasize their contributions in the context of the overall history of Boston. An interesting and impactful tour that's sure to become a key memory of your Boston trip.
We see the most historic parts of Boston. Starting in the Downtown Area, we will see some of the Freedom Trail and other key historic sites in a whole new light, as we trace the immigration and population shifts that make the city what it is today. Then up to Beacon Hill - not just where the aristocracy lived, but where the Black and Jewish Communities co-existed on the Back Side. We then go through the original West End where all the lower classes co-mingled and learn what became of them and the area itself. We'll end in the North End, which was the original immigrant area for Boston and is now the thriving Italian Section called by some "Little Italy".
