The Memorial features a statue of a pilot, gazing out to sea, and the names of 3000 aircrew who took part. There is a visitor centre, shop and cafe. Dover Castle Take a fascinating tour of the secret wartime tunnels, telling the story of Operation Dynamo in May 1940. It was in these tunnels that the operation rescuing 338,226 soldiers was planned, known as the “Miracle of Dunkirk”. A chance to see where history happened, in the original Army HQ rooms.
