Zürich's Highest Mountain
Overview of your Zurich tour
A visit by train to Zürich's highest point at over 2, 800 feet for an outstanding view of the city and an opportunity to experience natural Switzerland. This short trip takes you to one of the best viewpoints of Zürich City, Lake Zürich and the Alps. It is here where the Helvetian tribal people first settled in Zürich. It is also where many people today begin a hike along the Planet Trail. This unique path offers one the chance to learn about the Solar System on an approximately 3 3/4 mile ( 6 kilometers) trail (only if you wish). From Zurich main train station to the top takes about 30 minutes. From the Uetliberg Station we walk about 10 minutes to the top. There we will find an observation tower as well as a restaurant. While at the top we can take a walk, have a drink and snack or just enjoy the views. We will spend about an hour at the top before heading back to the city. It is an easy and fun way to experience Natural Switzerland
Your Zurich tour itinerary
- Train from Zürich Main Station to Üetliberg (approximately 30 minutes) - Walk 10 minutes to the top - Climbing to top of Observation Tower is optional - Taking a walk along the trails is optional - Stop for a drink or a snack if you wish - Return to Zürich by train ( approximately 30 minutes) - If time permits or if you want to spend less time on Üetliberg we could visit some of Zurich's sites *if you would like to walk the Planet Trail to a Felsenegg. This is an option that would need an additional 1 hour. Please just let me know and I am happy to extend this tour for you.
