Hi, my name is Veronique. I was born 1962 in Zurich. I grew up in this vibrant city taking everything that I had here for granted. Only after traveling through the world, I started to realize what a great place my home-town is. Zurich has so much to offer. There is the lake, the rivers, the charming old town with its historic sites and the churches, but also with a swinging nightlife for the fun-loving people. There is the quarter around the prime tower that only recently started to become a new important meeting place. But Zurich is also green. There are many parks, a botanical garden, a big zoo and lots of forests and small ravines where you can experience the beauty of nature in short or long walks without even leaving the city. On a train ride of less then 30 minutes you reach the hill we call Uetliberg where you can enjoy forest walks and view-points overlooking the city. During the summer months it is also great to stroll at the shore of the lake where lots of musicians and traveling artists compete to catch your attention. And of course you can make a boat tour on the lake. Having lived here as a child, a youth, adult and later on as the mother of children, now young adults I came to know many different facets of the town and of course every place has its own story. Let me know what your interests are - if you like to see the main highlights or rather the hidden places, or both, if you are interested in old times or nowadays politics, art, culture. . . and how much time you want to spend. I wish to compose the tour that fits you best. Looking forward to hearing from you! Veronique I don't drive. Why? The best way to discover Zurich is on foot, by tram or by boat.

Within short walking distance you will see medieval churches, a fancy shopping mall, green parks with ancient trees, houses of the 13th and 14th century, two rivers and a lake, chocolate stores, hidden Artwork on fountains and house walls. Let's explore the Old Town together, find the hidden places and hear their amazing stories.

This is a walking tour. We will stroll in the narrow alleys of the old town where it is very hilly and there are lots of stairs, so unfortunately it is not suitable for wheelchairs.
