Overview of your Zurich tour
Embark on an 8-hour journey blending the natural beauty of Mount Pilatus with the historic charm of Luzern. Your day begins with a comfortable transfer from Zurich in a luxurious Mercedes V-Class, perfect for up to four guests. Upon reaching Kriens, ascend Mount Pilatus via cable car—the only available route as the cogwheel train is currently closed. Enjoy a scenic 40-minute ride to the summit. From arrival until around 12:00 PM, immerse yourself in breathtaking alpine vistas, explore serene walking trails, or simply relax amidst the mountain's tranquility. After descending, return to Luzern's enchanting city center. Take a guided 30-40 minute stroll through the picturesque old town, marvel at landmarks like the Chapel Bridge and the Lion Monument, and enjoy time for shopping and personal exploration. Indulge in a delightful Swiss cheese tasting, experiencing local flavors that epitomize Swiss culinary tradition.
Your Zurich tour itinerary
It will be a full-day tour starting at 9:00 AM in Zurich. We will drive through the beautiful Swiss countryside towards Luzern and continue directly to Kriens. From there, the Pilatusbahn cable car will take you up to Mount Pilatus. At the summit, you can enjoy breathtaking views from the panoramic platforms and, if you wish, explore some of the hiking trails (good walking shoes are recommended). After some time on the mountain and a small lunch break, you will descend on the other side via the world’s steepest cogwheel railway to Alpnachstad, where I will be waiting to drive you back to Luzern. In Luzern, we will explore the charming Old Town with its historic landmarks and enjoy some free time for shopping and individual discovery. Around 5:30 PM, we will begin our drive back to Zurich. Please note: Mountain tickets, souvenirs, and food are not included in the tour price.
