Welcome to Stockholm, my city! I was born in Västerås, 94 km from Stockholm. I came to the capital for the first time when I was five years old and remember the day like it was yesterday. Instant love. After finishing school, I went abroad to work as a tour guide. For 25 years, I traveled around Europe and Asia. When I was 49, I moved to Stockholm. It is its proximity to water that makes me love Stockholm. On one side of the city lies Mälaren, Sweden's third largest freshwater lake. On the other side lies the Baltic Sea with its brackish seawater. Stockholm is built on 14 islands that are connected by 57 bridges. Each of these islands has its own atmosphere and unique style and manners. Stockholm is a city open to different perspectives and new ideas. A vibrant destination where innovations in music, design, fashion and technology mix well with museums, monuments, statues, green parks and the islands of the archipelago. Fresh air is abundant. In my spare time, I like to travel, preferably with my friends, but sometimes it's nice to travel alone too. I like to read, explore new museums and try new restaurants. Eating with others is a moment of conviviality, of sharing: a ritual where an exchange of tastes, aromas and interests takes place. Another thing I love about Stockholm is that it is so easy to get around. One can walk, take a bus or a boat. I like to share my experiences and I'm flexible. I think it would be great to help you organize your trip according to your interests and wishes. Let me take care of you and yours during a visit to Stockholm. I look forward to meeting you! I am a qualified Tour Guide. I have an authorization made by the Stockholm City Council. I am authorized to guide in most museums and palaces in Stockholm and Greater Stockholm. I also have the license to do a guided tour inside the City Hall. I also have a license to conduct tours in Uppsala and I'm a professional tree hugger (Shinrin Yoku - Forest bathing). I have a driving license, but I am not a driver. I can arrange a hired vehicle with professional english speaking drivers where needed.

Uppsala is one of Sweden's largest and oldest cities, and until the 13th century, it was called Östra Aros. Today, it's world-renowned for its university, magnificent cathedral and the legacy of emeritus scholar Carl Linnaeus. 5 km north of today's Uppsala, was the old Uppsala. 1, 500 years ago, it was a place of trade and of worship where we sailed around by boat. It was also an important center for trade and meetings. Even today, we see remains of the place where the assembly met and created laws, as well as some burial mounds from the 6th century where kings were buried. Sweden only became Christian in the 12th century, and in 1164 Uppsala became the country's religious center. The church was destroyed in a fire and a rise in land made it impossible to continue sailing here. The Archbishop's office moved 5 km south to Östra Aros and in 1286 we founded the new Uppsala. A new cathedral was built and consecrated in 1435. Uppsala has many green parks and nice cafes to discover too.
We meet at Central Station in Stockholm and travel together by train to Uppsala (about 40 minutes). From there, a short bus ride takes us to Gamla Uppsala, where Vikings once lived, farmed, traded and worshipped their gods at the royal court. We walk among the ancient burial mounds and visit the Gamla Uppsala Museum, with archaeological finds and models from the excavations. We also see Sweden’s first cathedral, before returning by bus to Uppsala city for a relaxed walking tour. Here we pass the historic student nations, Uppsala Castle, the Botanical Garden and the University Library. You will have free time to visit the Cathedral or Linné’s garden if you wish. At the end of the day, we travel back together by train to Stockholm.
