The capital city of Malaga, the Costa Del Sol and its inland villages have changed considerably since I arrived. Fishermans villages and agricultural lands have progressed into a tourism destination with better infrastructures and much better service. Nonetheless, we still have the essence and the innocence of the old times. It is wonderful to look back acknowledging the past to shape the present of Malaga region. Mijas!!! Come for a walk with a local expert through a picturesque little Andalusian white village, surrounded by green mountains and breathtaking views of the Mediterranean coastline. Enjoy strolling along its narrow streets and facades full of colourful flowers. Feel the peaceful life of the locals and relax as if time does not pass. This beautiful village has so much to offer! Let me guide you through the cute little bullring, the shrine of the Virgin of the Rock, the miniature museum, the local history museum and of course shopping, souvenirs, Morrocan leather, pottery, jewellery, olive oil, natural soaps etc. Visiting Mijas with me will make you understand the past of lifestyle in an Andalusian village: the agriculture, fishing, different artisan trades and much more going back to the Muslim and Roman times. A very pleasant tour of the town of Mijas. After a comfortable 45 minute drive to Mijas from the cruise port, Mahy explained the local history and sites at a pace that worked for our family, including one in a wheelchair. She is friendly, pleasant, and knowledgeable. Every special request we made was met with ease. Most definitely someone we will engage in future visits.

-After approximately 40 minutes drive from Malaga through the Coastline we will arrive in Mijas. -On our arrival to the Village; *First greet the iconic Donkey Taxis and maybe take a ride with them later on. *We will walk to a beautiful plaza where you will have breathtaking views of the coast line and the Mediterranean sea *We will visit the Chapel of the Virgin Of The Rock, the Patron Saint of Mijas (open from 10:00am to 1:00pm). *We will enter little narrow and colourful streets of Mijas where we will enjoy every little corner of this cute Andalusian white-washed town. *Our tour will end at the very top point of the town where the Bullring stands. *This is when you will have some free time for shopping, visiting monuments or just having a drink on an outdoor terrace watching people go by. -Back to the starting point.
