I have been in the wine industry either part or full-time for the last 30 years and I have been a wine specialist guide for almost 2 decades. I developed an insatiable curiosity for all the facets of the wine industry when I sat in on some of Cape Wine Academy's Diploma Level lectures. This prompted me to begin my own studies and I have been learning about wine ever since. Someone once asked me how much I know about wine, my answer remains the same today: "I know enough about wine to know that I know next to nothing. " What I do know is that I love taking people on tours through the magical vineyards in the Western Cape. There are so many to choose from and so little time… When you come on a tour with me, you will be treated to interesting out-of-the-classroom lessons and discussions which may include geography, history, science, politics, philosophy, sociology and art, not to mention an introduction to the myriad culinary delights that this part of the world has to offer! I completed the Diploma Courses with The Cape Wine Academy and have been a registered wine specialist tour guide for nearly 20 years. * I don't have any restrictions on my tours.

Overview of your Cape Town tour

After your collection, I will take you to see some cheetahs at an Outreach Program where they take advantage of the wonderful opportunity that they are presented with, to use the cheetahs that are unable to be rehabilitated, as ambassadors to teach people about these beautiful creatures. We will stop at one of the incredibly good Stellenbosch wine farms for a wine tasting and then find somewhere pretty for a quick bite to eat. After that, we will move on to see the feeding of the lions at a Lion Park that specialises in rescuing mistreated Lions from all around the world (if you are interested, you will have an opportunity to 'adopt' a lion here) Once that is all over, we will wend our way back to Cape Town with beautiful memories to share.

Kim is a very engaging, energetic and knowledgeable guide! She is also a wine judge, which makes her a perfect companion for any wine tasting tour. We really enjoyed our day with her and would definitely go with her again. The wildlife encounters are a great option is you haven't been on safari but might be disappointing if you have. We went to the cheetah center and would have enjoyed petting the cheetah but time did not allow it. That would definitely be a unique experience for appropriate aged children.
