Hello! I'm Claudia — your local Cape Town expert with a global heart. Originally from the U.S., I’ve called Cape Town home for over 37 years, and I’ve never stopped falling in love with its dramatic landscapes, vibrant culture, and warm people. As a registered private tourist guide, I specialize in tailor-made tours that go far beyond the usual highlights. Whether we’re exploring the iconic Table Mountain, Cape Point, or hidden coastal gems, I’ll show you the city's best photo ops, flavors, and stories — all at your pace and to your taste. I am passionate about road cycling, art, and photography, so I bring a creative lens to every tour. Love food and wine? Let’s head to the Winelands for tastings that include wine-and-chocolate pairings, biltong, cheese, and unforgettable local cuisine — from Cape Malay to seafood feasts and sunset picnics. Do you prefer something active or outdoorsy? We can hike, bike, stroll through sculpture gardens, or browse local markets. I also offer custom trips to Hermanus, the Garden Route, and Big-5 safaris near Port Elizabeth for those with more time. Let me craft a private tour that feels more like travelling with a savvy friend—one who knows all the shortcuts, stories, and secret spots. Cape Town is magic… come discover why! Information: I am a registered tourist guide in the Western Cape and can guide tourists up the Garden Route as far as Port Elizabeth. My car, Toyota Fortuner SUV, is fully licensed, registered, and accredited with the NPTR Operating Licence, and I am insured for personal liability. I hold the required PDP driver's license. My First Aid certificate is up to date and valid. I have completed an Introductory Course in Wine Appreciation. I am a proud CTGA - Cape Town Tourist Guides Association member.

Cape Town, affectionately called the "Mother City", is a very cosmopolitan city that is steeped in history and culture. It was discovered by the Dutch East India Company who navigated the stormy seas to and from Europe en route to the Spice Route. Table Mountain's magnificent presence lured the intrepid seafarers into the Table Bay Harbour in 1652. And that's how Cape Town became a refreshment station. What better way to explore the city's highlights than to start at the oldest building on the Foreshore of Cape Town! The tour combines easily walkable portions of several of the city's gems, which paint a colourful picture of our past. This city walking tour combines history, arts and culture, and local culinary favorites. After returning to your pick-up point, you will have unforgettable memories of the day and this vibrant, beautiful city. There is nowhere better. I can customise this to accommodate your requests and time frame.
Pick up from the agreed location. Drive to the Castle of Good Hope, visit the oldest Dutch East India Company bastion in Cape Town. Walk to District Six Museum - and have a site guide provide additional insight on the questionable history of the Apartheid Era pre-1965. Walk to Company's Gardens - ambling along the oak lines pathways which highlight the importance of the gardens. We will have a relaxing a fynbos tea tasting experience at the tea garden. "Coffee and Vine" located within Company's Garden. Here we will sample indigenous fynbos tea and traditional sweet treats. A lunch stop will be decided based on time constraints, location, and guide suggestions. We will end in the Cape Malay - Bo Kaap area. This area is a heritage sight honouring the Muslim community and their culture.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
You will be collected at your designated accommodation in my private car and dropped off at your hotel at the end of the tour. The first stop is the Castle of Good Hope, where we will park. The remainder of the tour is a walking tour. The route is approximately 2-5 km/2 miles of walking along the city streets, through Company's Gardens and Bo Kaap. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for this tour.
