Walking Half-day tour in Tangier

Achraf is a great tour guide. He is sensitive to the walking abilities of the group (we were with another couple who had some challenges) and will gracefully personalize the route. As a native of Tangiers he has invaluable knowledge about the local people and shops. We highly recommend him! (The only reason for a rating of 4 and not 5 was that he spent a fair amount of time on his phone as we were on our walking tour.)

Achraf shared his extensive knowledge of Tangier and Moroccan culture as we visited unique places off the beaten path in the medina and the casbah. Time well spent!

Achraf gave our family an unforgettable & informative tour of Tanger. He artfully guided us through the winding streets of the Medina & Kasbah explaining the sites we saw along the way with his excellent English. He knows his history & adding many interesting stories of the area. We sampled food along the way and he pointed out some restaurants we returned to later that were excellent. We hope to return & will look Achraf up to use as our guide.

Achraf was incredible, we feel so lucky to have spent the day with a guide so knowledgeable and passionate about sharing their home town with us. We had a group of six which was perfect for this tour. Achraf communicated early and clearly with instructions on where to meet. We walked at a good pace for a group of mixed ages and visited the kasbah, souk (market), and other cultural and historic places. Achraf did an excellent job understanding each of our interests, answered questions, and provided a lot of details about the different locations. He asked specifically what we were interested in purchasing and took us to stores where the quality and craftsmanship were high. Achraf helped us navigate bartering or not as appropriate for what we were buying. The textile shop we visited was outstanding and we got to see the loom in action.

As it turned out, the guide we were scheduled to have was sick, but his colleague Mohammed took us for a very detailed walking tour of Tangier. His knowledge of the city was amazing and we were fortunate to not only see the areas most visited by tourists (for example, where there was an amazing view) but also places that not not frequented as much. The fish and meat markets were amazing. But it was our guides explanations which helped us understand what Tangier is all about. I recommend this tour most highly.

Achraf Benamar was our tour guide in Tangier, Morocco to explore old part of Tangier. Thanks to Achraf we saw places we would never discover on our own. The best part is to wander around the markets located in the maze of small streets. We wanted to discover traditional and local food/drink so he took us to a local shop in the Petit Socco and we did eat a delicious local Round Bread “Khobz” with fresh goat's cheese and honey. We also had a delicious mint tea in the Grand Socco. Just at the end of the tour, we needed to take a taxi and he did arrange it for us! Achraf was knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and just a pleasure to have as our tour guide!
