I have a great passion for the city and my joy is to share my knowledge of the old Tangier. I have lived here all my life and think it's a fascinating place to visit. Tangier has over 2000 years of history. It has Roman, Portuguese, Moorish. . heritage. This 4-hour tour allows you to understand why Tangier has played such a relevant role in the history of the Mediterranean and beyond. Its geopolitical position on the ancient maritime routes made it a commercial hub and a junction of two continents and civilizations. We begin our exploration of the historic center from the Kasbah citadel hosting some of the iconic buildings of Hispano-Moorish architectural style and Portuguese fortifications. We will continue our walk through the amazing labyrinth of the Medina and the vibrant food and crafts markets. Next we will see the Jewish quarter and Moise Nahon synagogue. For the lovers of traditional food, an authentic Moroccan meal is next on the list!

Abdelmoghit was the perfect guide for us. He went above and beyond what was expected. He let us choose meeting place, and he treated us like old friends. It was not a business transaction. We felt like special, personal, guests. The pace was perfect; we strolled and talked at length about history and architecture, as well as life and culture in Tangier and around the world. Abdel is a wonderful, kind, articulate person and guide. He spent extra time with us to be sure we got to all the experiences we could- including tasting local food and visiting local artisans. When we left we felt like friends for life. We will stay in touch, and hope someday to come back to Tangier and see him again. Travel is an amazing way to shrink the world and feel connected. Abdel made what was a drizzly day into one that we'll remember fondly. He got us into the Grand Mosque when we were told it was closed, provided excellent guiding and took us to a local restaurant at our request. What we liked best was just getting to know Abdel.
