Exploring Tangier Private Tour

We use Tours by Locals wherever we travel. They never disappoint and Abdel and Mohammed were more of the same considerate, warm, caring, wise and will informed expert "leaders." We are 88 and 89 and needed special consideration and flexibility. Abdel took great care and designed the most wonderful, full service expedition through Morocco without exhausting us, though it had to be doubly hard for him to take the extra time and patience to make sure we enjoyed and explored so much of this wonderful spot. Very grateful to both and, as always, to the organization that has the wisdom to employ them.

An absolute 5-star experience! Abdelmoghit was incredibly experienced, punctual, and picked us up right at our hotel on time. He was extremely informative, sharing deep and fascinating insights into the local history and culture that we never would have discovered on our own. Every stop on the tour felt engaging and well-paced. We felt completely taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend this guide to anyone looking for an authentic and professional tour! Could not have seen all that we did in the day we had visiting Tangier. Just navigating thru the old town and market was worth the price. Abdelmoghit was a terrific guide to this very diverse and fascinating city. His knowledge and insights made the tour both interesting and educational. We enjoyed a traditional Moroccan meal at a wonderful restaurant overlooking the harbor in old town. I highly recommend this tour!

My husband and I took 6 members of our family on a multi-generational cruise that included 2 teens and 2 Grandmothers around their 80’s. Abdel was wonderful. Very kind and sympathetic he showed us around Tangier, organized a fantastic lunch, and spent time getting to know us and sharing details of life there and his faith. He was promptly there waiting for us off the ship and easy to find. We enjoyed Tangier a great deal! Both Grandma’s were eager to ride the camels and so they did and that was quite a highlight. We loved the food, enjoyed seeing the park and the parts of town that were a bit out of the medina. The small windy roads in the medina were very charming. The souk as he explained was very touristy and so much so that there wasn’t really any bargaining for goods, which was a surprise to us all.

Since this was our first trip to Morocco we wanted a private tour so we booked with Abdelmoghit and it was money well spent as we were able to see so much of Tangiers in such a short amount of time but it didn't feel rushed either. We learned so much as Abdelmoghit was knowledgeable in the history of Tangiers/Morroco, as well as current events. The day before our scheduled tour, he contacted me via ToursbyLocals and WhatsApp to let me know where to meet him. He and his driver arrived on time and we spent the next 6.5 hours hitting all the highlights of Morocco. He also took us to this amazing restaurant for lunch where we had lamb and chicken tagine. We walked through the Medina where we stopped by a few stores because I told him I wanted to buy babouches (shoes). And while he said he knew the store owners, he mentioned a few times that there was no pressure to buy and if we didn't like the items then we can leave with no hard feelings.

Abdel was an excellent tour guide and Mohammad the driver was kind as could be. We had preconceived ideas of what Morocco would be like and we were completely wrong, which made us laugh. There was a nice balance between enjoying nature, seeing historical sites, having some local treats, and finishing off at the bazaar. Abdel really knows his stuff and Mohammad made us feel safe with his driving skills.
